Dirty nappy time

No way. DH was always willing to do his share. My DDs partner also changes nappies whenever he is first on the scene. When it comes to changing DGCs nappies I tend to get there before DH as his knees are not what they used to be! (DH is in a bowls club and one of the members is the talk of the club as he refuses to change nappies or do anything supposedly thought to be 'womens' work'. Sounds like some sort of throw back to the dark ages!)

No of course it isn't although a lot of men seem to think so , happily my son is only too happy to change his sons nappies dirty or otherwise so I must of done something right even though I don't remember his father (my ex) ever changing his.

DH was happy to do his share with our children but never the grandchildren.

My DH never got within thirty yards of a dirty nappy so I seriously can't see him even entertaining to possibility now! I don't think he'd have the foggiest idea how to start ?

DS cheerfully changes dgs, does anything needing doing (bath time is his specialty, lots of bubbles and laughter), definitely very hands on. When ddil had morning sickness with current pregnancy DS did every dirty nappy if he was around.

My mum said my DF never changed me or my sisters, it 'just wasn't done by men then'

My DH didn't change our children's nappies, though he's completely unsqueamish, but happily deals with GC. I think it's because the nappies were so much more complicated then and that's what put him off, he couldn't cope with all that folding and pins etc.

My OH was quite happy changing nappies of any state.

DD was one of those breast fed babies who only pooed every few days and when she did there was quite a lot to come through and the terry nappies would leak everywhere. You virtually had to stick her in a bag up to her neck for environmental protection.

Very awkward if you are not at home and can't stick them straight into a bath to clean them up.

Fortunately breast fed babies nappies do not smell too bad until they started on solids.

My DH took his turn when our girls were small and now with 4 DGC he will try and avoid it if he can.

However when he's on solo duty then he has to deal with dirty nappies, throwing up and eating the dogs food ! Just an everyday occurrence in the life of a Grampy

I don't remember my husband ever changing nappies for our children - those terry towelling ones with the huge safety pin - he would probably have ended up stabbing them! He then wouldn't change our granddaughters when they were babies as he didn't think it was appropriate. He's also not good when it comes to emptying the cat's litter tray and prefers to put it outside in the rain until I come home! Men!!

In the 1940s a friend's mother came back from having her second baby to find very few Terry nappies. Father had buried the dirty one on the back garden!!

DH always did the needful if required when our children were babies. It tends to be me changing the DGSs nappies but I think that's just me wanting to do it. DH is a star re the cat litter tray. Very glad he just automatically does it and the bin every day.

DH was happy to change both of our DC and was just as happy to change both DGS.
Both our DC were bottle fed and he did plenty of bottle prep, feeding and sterilising too.

DH would change nappies if absolutely necessary, for instance if I'd gone out and left him in charge. He never really got to grips with terry nappies though - the folds were always wrong, the pin in the wrong place, or the nappy simply wasn't done up tightly enough so leaked everywhere .
He's never offered to change any of the GC's nappies, even though they're so much easier.

DH is the sort of GF who has conversations with DD like :

DH (calling to DD who's popped into the other room): She's fallen sideways on the sofa
DD: Can you sit her up again, then!!
DH: Erm, not sure... how do I pick her up?

Needless to say, he's never called upon to babysit. Very clever of him, of course

Just before he was potty trained my grandson had a horrendous nappy. He lay there holding his nose and laughing while his older sister stood away from the action end sadly shaking her head and saying 'Oh Max'. My hero was actually out of the from door, down the path and in the street!

DGS was under a consultant for digestive problems for the first 18mths or so. It wasn't unusual for him to produce what the family affectionately called 'explodeapoo' DH changed his fair share of these, bless him.
