Eyebrows

I too have a problem with eyebrows disappearing but did you know that losing the outside third of your eyebrows is a classic sign of low thyroid function (Hypothyroid)? Might be worth getting Thyroid levels checked.

I use Wunderbrow and am very pleased with it. I order it from Amazon. It's easy to apply and thats for someone hopeless at make up. Choice of colours. I tried 2 different before settling.

rubysong I was diagnosed with frontal fibrosing alopecia about 5 years ago and told it was an auto immune disorder. I was assured they could stop it receding. Wrong! It's still creeping back. The wind is my enemy which is why I wear a lot of hats! (not all at once ).

I also lost all my body hair including eyebrows. Apparently this is a different type of alopecia! Lucky me! That is not such a big deal but there is no way I could draw, paint or tattoo eyebrows as I have uneven, deep wrinkle lines there.

Indinana I suppose I should think myself lucky that I have so far escaped the moustache and beard .

Never thought I would be grateful that DH now has to wear glasses. It would seem that I now appear to him as slightly out of focus as in the old films. So romantic - and labour saving!

Couldn't agree more Indinana. Spend money on shampoo to give my hair more body, eye products to fill in the brows and then catch sight of my chin in the magnifying mirror with the light behind me!

I'm another one who's lost nearly all my eyebrow hair. And my underarm hair (can't remember the last time I had to shave there, which I suppose is a plus). Leg hair is also a bit sparse these days, and due to scalp psoriasis, my once gloriously thick mane of hair is getting thinner too .

So why, with all these indignities, do we have to have bloody hair growing on our upper lips and chins?

She didn't think much of me either, in all fairness, short, long straight hair, mascara only make up bare legs and Dr Scholl sandals - not her type of female at all !!!

My MIL (long departed) had the most terrifying eyebrows - black arches - she was probably only in her mid fifties when I met her but she terrified the life out of me when I first met her - black arched eyebrows, piercing eyes (seemed so to me) and crimson lipstick - also she was tall!!!! All I could think of was Cruella da Vil - still do when I think of her. I would love to be able to say that she was the complete opposite of her looks but unfortunately she wasn't

I have been a baldy-brow for ages..having had full and lustrous brows they fell out as a rsult of some medication (maybe Beconase??) when in my 40s,

Now to add insult to injury to add to their sparseness they have gone grey and wiry so I actually pluck some out!!

I use a dye on the hairs I do have and then 'fill in' daily with a Liz Earl brow pencil. Not perfect but provides a bit of definition!

Regalo it only seems to rub off if you rub it yourself does that make sense I paid £20 from Amazon for mine and I did use a very fine eyeliner brush of my one I found it easier than the brush it came with

roses if it's windy I am out and can't see myself so it doesn't worry me

Tinaf1....I have read about wonder brow. Does it wash off in the shower? Is it expensive?

Had my eyebrows done a few years ago. They were great. They need doing again now but the price has shot up so I pencil over the remains now.

I had eyebrows done with semi permanent make up but you do have to have it topped up and it's very expensive so stopped having it done when I packed up work (couldn't justify the expense) I now use wonder brow advertised in newspapers it's very good and lasts until you wash it off I bought lightest colour and am really pleased with it

I'm pretty sure that Charleygirl still has to undergo the plucking/threading thing?

I did read that eyebrows, leg and pit hair disappears with age certainly applies to me !
No way would I pay £300 to have brows tattooed on.

I have a fringe, hides a multitude of sins!

57, & still have more eyebrows than I would like! (Only 2, before anyone picks me up on that, but rather on the bushy side)

Eyesight problems mean I can't pluck them properly myself, can just about manage the stragglers, but proper plucking & shaping means a trip to the salon, plus of course removing the grey ones

It is the age of the eyebrow, I think many of us desire the perfectly arched eyebrow. I have to admit that I now spend more on products for them than mascara now, but having them tattooed would be a step too far for me. I'm still reeling from the dentist's quote for a possible new tooth I may have to have £300 for eyebrow definition definitely not!
