You can buy some very good silk flowers nowadays which look just like the real thing. Maybe that would solve the problem-you get your flowers and DH stops sneezing!

I wonder if it would help if you could cut out the anthers like we do with lilies to stop them staining? The anthers are the bits in the centre of the flower that are dusty with pollen on the end of stalks (stigma, style and filament). Any part of a flower can be scented, but perhaps removing those parts would help.

You could put the vase under one of those glass horticultural domes, that can be bought at any graden centre. They come in plastic as well, but these usually have a little ventilation grid in th top. You could tape this over.

Does anyone know how to make a bunch of daffs scent-free? I love having daffs in a jug in early Spring but my DH has become allergic to the smell and can't stand being in the same room. I don't want to give up my daffs but they will soon have to go - or DH will. Help!
