Oh gosh, my lovely scots friend Betty, from Girvan, went to all their concerts. She even made me a tape of some of their music. wiah you were still here Bett !

Didn't do Scotland this time. Nottingham, Gateshead, Birmingham, Ipswich and Cambridge next Saturday

My Scottish friend Ann was a huge fan of Runrig and went to all their gigs. Sadly she died about 20 years ago in her 40s.

I loved Runrig back in the day - are they still around?

They're at the Caird Hall, Dundee, soon.
We've just seen them 2 or 3 times, Flowerofthewest, and not since Donny Munro left (so that's quite a while, now). Oh, but their music stirs the soul!

I love them too. There's nothing quite like Going Home belting out in the car as I cross the border into Scotland, even though it's over 45 years since I've lived there!

Caird Hall was couple of weeks ago . Denmark in March. Ipswich was my 18 3rd concert. I will follow them til they retire. They have just released their last studio album. The Story. A gem of an album. Worth listening to.

Flower, and everyone else on this thread, thank you so much for introducing me to Runrig! Until now I`d never heard of them, but you all prompted me to go on you tube, and I think they are wonderful! As Marelli says, they stir the soul!

Same here ordered my first CD last night after listening on youtube

And I`ve just found out where Flowerofthewest got her name!

I was introduced (unfortunately not in person!) a few years ago and now have a few CDs of theirs. They always lift my spirits.

Have met the guys many times. Lovely genuine people. Off to Cambridge Saturday for last gig of my mini tour. Making it my 180th concert.

Saw them many years ago in York and I also think they supported Phil Collins in Leeds once but can't quite remember. Off to look on You Tube

So glad I spotted this thread . I've been struggling to think of a suitable surprise present for the old boy's 70th which is fast approaching. Managed to get tickets for Edinburgh Castle in July, so with a nice hotel that's it all sorted. Thanks for the inspiration, flowerofthewest
