They are actual tickets, not self print.

Here is the blurb from the Virgin website about the above tickets:

"You can make changes to the date or time of your Advance ticket right here on the site. But don’t leave it till the last minute, you need to do it at least two hours before the original departure time that you booked. Just go to My Account to make the change.

If you opted for a Self-Print or m-ticket, you’ll have to change it online. All changes of any kind need to be made by 18:00 the day before the first departure date shown on your ticket.

Switching your Advance ticket to one of equal or greater value, or to another ticket type, is nice and straightforward. But you do need to pay any difference in ticket cost, and a £10 charge per ticket.

The important bit: when you travel, don’t forget to bring your original tickets with you (including any original Self-Print tickets). Your new tickets are only valid with the old ones, so make sure you have them to hand."

Return is for the 13th so no good for the meet sadly. Also I don't think they can be transferred to a different date. (will check when home) They are reserved seats.

I thought of that too, Pittcity. Are they return tickets or singles, nina? I'll put a link on the April in Edinburgh thread too in case that refers anyone back here.

Anyone fancy going to the Edinburgh meetup in April, who could use the tickets?

parsley that is a good idea. I'm on a Iocal Facebook women's group and there is always some "windfall" food being offered - because it was from a house near me, I went and picked up a box of "Hello Fresh" ingredients from someone (they had duplicated her order) and I had a lot of fun making the recipes, the box contained meat and veg. (I wouldn't subscribe to it because I buy and cook from fresh any way).

Also frequently offers of various tickets on there.

hello ninathenana,

I do hope that an offer like you are making IS legit on GN, as I think it is a really good idea! Possibly one that could be developed?

In the last couple of days I have read - in two different places - about a new free app called Olio which helps people cut food waste by advertising locally food that they are unable to use. I think it is currently only available in London.

It makes me happy when the internet can be used to do good! I hope you find a taker for your tickets, and I'm sorry I can't help!

I don't know anyone who is planning a trip to Edinburgh on any date, they were only £30 each so the fees wouldn't be worth while pittcity but thanks for the suggestion.

Pittcity Sun 28-Feb-16 09:31:15

I know you can't get a refund on advance tickets but you can change the date of travel for a £10 fee and the difference in price.
Maybe someone could use them on a different date if you can't Nina

Have you looked to see if you can get a refund?

If this is not allowed GNHQ I understand.
I have 3 Virgin train tickets for 7th March from London to Edinburgh which I can't use are they any good to anyone??
