salt n vinegar McCoys, and Roka cheese crisps....and my book feet up in the afternoon...GN in my pjs eating breakfast procastinating and looking at DGD'S clothes mountain that needs washing ..yet again...just turned round so Icant see it ....book club once a month held in a pub ....very sociable, and sometimes we talk about the book.
I was given a lovely box of chocolates for Mothers' Day by DD. I was just going to have one or two, but.....when I looked I saw that my hand had somehow just picked up the last one on the top layer. Now Mr A has a sweet tooth and neither of us should really be eating chocolates and I didn't want to seem like a greedy pig set him a bad example. So I quickly hid all the wrappings and offered him a couple from the bottom layer as if I'd just opened it.....and he never queried that it was just a one-layer box.
You make them last a couple of days, imp, I'm impressed!! Sadly my guilty pleasures, well the ones I'm prepared to admit to on gnet anyway , seem to be mostly food related...they're what's made me the woman I am today !
One of my bosses and I used to have a fantasy about opening a stationery shop; I personally love treasury tags and luggage labels! And those little metal things with two little legs that you hold things together with so you can make paper people with moving legs. But my main guilty pleasure is watching Made in Chelsea .
Tsk ... I realise that most of my guilty pleasures are food orientated. Aaaah, haribos ... aaaah fondant fancies ... another yes and the list could go on and on ... Must go, just realised /I have a packet of dolly mixtures left from yesterday ...
The advantage of having reached (if not bypassed) the years of discretion is that we need feel no guilt about our simple pleasures. If spending the afternoon on GN reading an improving book or polishing off the DGCs' Haribos is what floats you ur boat, who are we answerable to but ourselves?
ruby lady I think /I must belong to the same 'strange' club as you New stationery - oh yes! Charity shop bargains - I think the definition is 'something you don't need at such a low price, you can't resist' - yes! Watching something on iplayer at daft-o'clock when all else is silent is another yes for me. AND every so often I buy a pound's worth of sweets from Sainsbury's - 3 bags, eg.g. dolly mixtures, foam bananas and jellies ... and happily work through the lot in less than 2 days with a i crossword / letter search for company. Bliss! I am cheap to keep really .
I have lots of pleasures in my life but I don't feel guilty about any of them. I only feel guilty if I've done something wrong. Having a bit of fun and enjoying stuff isn't wrong.
I get excited about the strangest things, buying new wipes (for anything), buying stationery, the thrill of trying to find something but at the cheapest bargain possible. Looking in my diy drawer, that is exciting, although I can't do much now. Buying glitter and glue. I am strange.
