pompa I agree with you - where has all the humour gone. In the early days we had a good mix of debate, moans etc but overall the humour shone through. What's happened to everyone sorry I am not around much at the moment so it could be said I have no right to comment... but thats what I think.

My husband is besotted with Hayley Mills. I have bought him The Family Way, his favourite film. It arrived today. Isn't it it sad to see how Hywel Bennett has aged. He was so handsome in his youth. But then we all were?

That the problem with old films/tv programmes, you forget that the actors are now old, because they are forever young on screen.

Thanks Anya. I was a grump yesterday - haven't caught up with my 'treats and rewards' thread yet, as I was out all day, but in I couldn't agree more and will try to limit my grumpiness to things that really matter .

Good Morning I haven't read every posting in this thread but I get the general gist. I read a book sometime ago about NLP which said you can decide to be happy. When I get down and grumpy which I do I try to think of that and its quite hard going at times. I don't join I the arguments in Gransnet although I do read them and see if I can see both sides. Some postings make me laugh out loud and some make me despair and I hope overall it wont be the death of this site because I think its a good and positive thing. So have a happy day today if you can.

Has anyone thought that sitting on the sofa posting things on Gransnet and FB etc makes you grumpy?

Real life is outside and although parts of it might be disappointing it is real and better than talking to people we actually don't know.

May I make a suggestion. Pointless question, as I going to make it anyway.

When some GNers try to lighten up a thread with a witty comment etc, they often get shouted down by the Grumps. There are so many of us that are AntiGrumps, we should dive in and support our AntiGrump mates.

The sun is shining so as soon as I've finished my coffee I'll be planting my recent purchases from our local nursery. I try and avoid the garden centres for plants (how daft does that sound?) but often go there for gifts.

The problem with our nurseries is that they become very successful due to the fact they concentrate on plants and their prices are reasonable. They expand, become even more popular and Hey Presto! They are taken over by one of the chains.

A nursery just a ten minute drive away is now Scotsdales and it's full of tat. You can't park when the cafe is full but.....they do a three for two compost offer so all is not lost

We still have one nursery left but it's getting bigger....and bigger and the prices have soared

I think I'm wandering about in a daze this morning. My last post should have been on the grump about garden centres.
