Hi Soop, I have lurked for a while and don't post often but felt I should tell you about my mum, I am not inferring that your situation is the same but just sharing her story.
My mum had a series of falls just before Christmas and failed to get checked by GP. She didn't tell us and she is very stubborn. On 19th December she had her 3rd fall in a week and fell indoors and she fractured her femur. She had surgery, and spent 2 weeks in hospital. DH and I stayed there for 5 weeks as my mum is my dads carer, he has had heart attacks and has essential tremor. Anyway blood tests showed up an underlying problem which had caused her to fall. My point is if she had taken the falls more seriously she may not have gone through the horrendous pain and hospital stay. And on a selfish note we would have seen our DC and DGC at Christmas. My parents moved 200 miles away 20 years ago and I am an only child, they have no family near them. Mum has made a marvellous recovery, I am very proud of her, she can now walk quite well with 1stick very impressive for an 85 year old. DH was a star he still works and worked there for the duration. Sorry to interfere but would hate anyone or their loved ones going through this, it was very traumatic. Mum thought she was just ' doddery' but now her medication has been changed she feels much better all round. However she still hasn't learned her lesson, she has been feeling dizzy lately but won't go to the GP, not much I can do if she refuses to go. She was also told to keep hydrated and drink plenty, she won't do that either. She's unlikely to change now at 85 bless her Take care.
