A friend of mine's married name was Dick so their children had the surname too. When they were at school, she had to change their surname for two reasons. One was that they were teased mercilessly and the other was that their name was perpetually being flagged up by the computer systems for inappropriate content and so they couldn't be sent any communications from school!
Someone in my wider family has the surname Hussey. When she found she was expecting a baby girl, her mother had to persuade her that calling her Scarlett was not a good idea.
