I like your "blues and twos". We've had 3 in the last 7 months. I hope things get sorted and that his JR procedure makes him feel better. All the best to you BOTH for tomorrow.
As you say, slug-gate is small fry by comparison, but obviously some people lead very small lives.

Alea Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear that your husband is continuing to give rise for concern. Sometimes, when there is a mighty big distraction - (thanks to our G&Tea being on the end of some sniping tongue)we lose touch, albeit it briefly, with other on going issues that affect our Kitcheners. That's a heck of an early start for you both tomorrow. However, your husband will be in good hands. Please tell us how the procedure goes. You have been through a tough time lately. I can well imagine how anxious you are to cuddle the wee baby. I'm sending good vibes and hope that your concerns are dealt with and another visit to cuddle baby can be arranged very soon.

Dd has experience intermittent stomach pain over the last 6 months or so. It stopped being intermittent on Friday (why is it always a weekend?) On Sunday she went to their local urgent care centre (with an appointment via NHS Direct). They gave her antacids and told her to go to the gp. She got an 8 am appt and at 8.15 she rang to ask me to take her to the Surgical Assessment centre now. They have been brilliant, she stayed on overnight so she could have an endoscopy as soon as a slot occurred. That's all I know but it looks like an ulcer is the likely diagnosis! Which is a relief! I'm now on the school run!

Oh Alea I wish there was something we could do to help . You sound worn to a frazzle with worry. Hopefully a cuddle with your new arrival will happen soon and that your DH's condition is much improved by this procedure . Sending you a big hug and some ??? and maybe one or two ????xx

soop, I slipped on a muddy patch on my garden path, while carrying my GS. Fell straight onto my shoulder and have broken the humerus in two places. Going back to fracture clinic (at the JR, alea!)on Thursday to see if the bones are knitting together properly on their own, otherwise an operation will be needed.
My DS said it sounded like a horror movie with my screams (I can really project my voice when necessary!), and my GS crying. Luckily, my GS was unhurt... and also luckily, trousers with elastics waists, and sleeveless button through tops, are all the rage this season!

All the best for the JR tomorrow, alea. What a hellish time to have to be there!

Minibags was born at the JR, and the ICU looked after my comatose brother very well and got him fixed up, little bit by little bit, after a horrendous accident.

dramatictessa (*DT*), hope your injuries are knitting together as they should and you can avoid an op. That fall sounds very painful!

dramatictessa I shuddered when I read of your nasty tumble. The pain must have been agonising. To make matters worse, you would have been so concerned for your grandson's welfare. An awful shock for both of you. Thank goodness that help was at hand. Oh dear, all manner of "what ifs" are spinning around in my head.

dramatictessa my daughter's partner was knocked off a scooter in Thailand and his shoulder was totally smashed! The pain is very bad isn't it? I hope you're a good knitter!

wot He owns the best cushion, the best chair, the best tartan rug, several bowls and a cupboard full of the best cat food. Not bad for a cat that had lived rough for at least ten years. He has certainly made a mark on our lives. From being a ferocious feline (he attacked me long ago) he has become an absolute darling.

Lona Not too long before you move into your new apartment. What a special day that will be. We shall need to raise a glass of chair to celebrate the event.

So sorry things are unsettled (to put it mildly) again for you and H Alea. I am just back from the most productive visit to Man Eye Hospital that I have had. I saw a lovely consultant who listened to my concerns and explained everything so well.
Result was I have had PDT and laser treatment and will continue with my choice of injections and hospital until my life settled down a bit.
I cannot go out in sunlight now for 48 hours and must wear sunglasses, long sleeves and socks. I can't sit in the conservatory or be in a room with no curtains and no halogen lights. It would be the best week of the year wouldn't it.
All I can say is isn't our Health service wonderful when needed.
All the posts here just confirm that.

Oh, why did you have to mention ironing. soop? Mine is sitting staring at me and I'm trying very hard to ignore it. This morning the window cleaner arrived when I was in the shower - rather late in the morning as I'd been lounging around. Shoved on some clothes that came easily to hand and caught him before he escaped. Then a lad I had been tutoring rang me to tell me about the GCSE Eng Lang paper which he thought was better than any practice paper he had done with me - great news! My pink climbing rose - Royal Star and Garter - has burst all at once into bloom . It really lifts the spirits!
Alea, I hope the rest of the week goes as planned.

Oh Alea I am so sorry to hear that your DH is having more problems, it appears to be never ending.

soop you took the words out of my mouth regarding Rory and his penchant for comfortable cushions, throws, any sort of bedding.

I came home at 6pm this evening to find Tara very comfortable on my computer chair. She moved immediately without me asking her. My duvet is the most comfortable spot later in the evening and also all night. There are people homeless but my cat has taken over a double bedroom but spends most of the time in mine.

dramatictessa I do hope that surgery is not on the cards and that your shoulder is slowly getting better with the pain diminishing.

ann at least the consultant listened to your concerns for once. You also are having a rough time for many reasons. Have you an appointment for surgery?
