Away the lads!

I can never understand the "honors" list and often wonder what these people have done that is so special. Take Ant and Dec for example (and I am a Geordie), They are paid huge sums for presenting television programs. Have they done masses of (free) charity work? Being on TV, a pop star, film star or sports personality almost seems to guarantee you an honor at some point.

I try not to watch them but they seem to be everywhere all the time!!

I didn't know till I googled it PRINTMISS; I hadn't even forgotten..I just didn't know . I only checked because it occurred to me that she could have been the sort of person to probably refuse a Damehood [other than the fact that she would most likely be able to incorporate it into something funny].How sad that she's gone .

Victoria Wood did have a CBE. Agree that Joan Collins shouldn't be a Dame though.

Being a link person to any tv/radio programme is not as easy as it looks and they are masters of their craft.It may be more obvious when someone is a great Shakesperean actor etc, but I bet most of them couldn't do what A&D do. They've bought a lot of fun and enjoyment to a lot of people over the years and they deserve this recognition. Pleased to hear about Alan Shearer also.

Never watched Ant & Dec, so really no comment! Agree about Victoria Wood though, she should be honoured in some way. Must be difficult to please everyone, I wonder how they come to the final list?

It does offend me! I was pretty cross at Joan Collins being made a dame last time though. Dear Victoria Wood should have had every possible honour piled on her. Still very sad.
