I think I am in the lead in the sweating profusely, showering, changing and then repeat event!
This is closely followed by the mountain of laundry caused by above event.

Wobblybits Wed 14-Sept-16 21:11:15

In that case I want to enter the throwing toys out of pram event

Jalima Wed 14-Sept-16 21:04:00

Olympics!
Panto belongs in the 'C*******' season

Wobblybits Wed 14-Sept-16 20:39:12

So are we still Olympic grans or Panto grans ?

Wobblybits Wed 14-Sept-16 20:34:30

Too late, I'm already hiding under the cover.

Jalima Wed 14-Sept-16 20:28:04

is ducking for cover an eligible sport?

Jalima Wed 14-Sept-16 20:27:22

annsixty my thoughts exactly, however, I think the walk is only 1 mile 10 yards in old money.

Wobblybits you could come as Prince Charming
although .....

annsixty Wed 14-Sept-16 18:54:21

Only the last mile? ?

Charleygirl Wed 14-Sept-16 18:52:49

ann you could easily join Jalima and myself on the long distance walk. We take a taxi for the last mile, paid for by our sponsors. No effort involved.

annsixty Wed 14-Sept-16 18:47:42

I am struggling to decide what I should be training for for four years time. I will be 83 then so I think new categories will need to be introduced.
So far all Ican think of is removal, cleaning and putting back dentures.
Dressing without sitting on the bed.
Washing all over without missing any bits and finally eating a complete meal without spillage down ones front.
I did contemplate getting to the loo without an accident but that may be a step too far.

Wobblybits Wed 14-Sept-16 18:21:34

I seem to have lost the plot here, whatever we are entering, I am NOT wearing a pink tutu, mankini perhaps, but not tutu.

Charleygirl Wed 14-Sept-16 18:02:34

I have more swimming tonight. I opted out of the heats because I was not up to all of those heats and then the final. I left the heats to the young ones.

A pink scooter and a pink dress, I would love to see that Jalima. We must get our taxi sorted for the last mile or whatever of that long walk which is beyond us. It would have been beyond me 50 years ago never mind now.

Jalima Wed 14-Sept-16 17:42:56

I am wearing a pink Princess dress, I think I'm Aurora.
It's very apt as she is aka Sleeping Beauty and I like a little nap from time to time (although I am not beautiful).

NanKate Wed 14-Sept-16 15:57:31

Well done Jalima I hope you are wearing a pink ballerina dress whilst on the pink scooter, you are bound to win some sort of medal.

We only have a day or two left so I hope the GN team can get a few more accolades. We are a bit thin on the ground in comparison with the mainstream Olympics.

We only have 4 more years to practise for both the Olympics and Para Olympics, plus keeping ourselves healthy and well. hmm So get exercising PDQ !

Jalima Tue 13-Sept-16 23:20:27

I have been practising on the Princess pink scooter, hurtling around the pavements at 0.5 mph, terrorising pedestrians.
It's much more fun than those mobility scooters.

NanKate Fri 09-Sept-16 22:18:54

I hear we have a good chance of a medal in the Space Hopper 100 yds or what ever that is in metres. Any of you fancy having a go ?

Any pogo stick Gransnetters available ?

Charleygirl Fri 09-Sept-16 16:48:53

Pittcity you will receive both- do not forget that you can always melt down the gold medal when you come home if funds are tight.

Pittcity Fri 09-Sept-16 16:46:14

Will we be getting the cuddly toy with the golden hair? I'd prefer that to a medal!

Charleygirl Fri 09-Sept-16 14:38:03

Didn't we do well yesterday re gold medals? I am afraid that I may have to skip the heats for swimming- I cannot do heats and the final, the exertion would be too much and let's face it, they do not hand out medals for the heats yet.

Charleygirl Fri 09-Sept-16 09:53:24

ann please may I remind you that you are there for Queen and country. Less of the alcohol and please buckle down to what you have been training to do for the last 4 years.

When you eventually return to that green and pleasant land that is forever England, you may find that the sun has been switched off there for around 6 months so please make every effort to enjoy the glorious sun.

annsixty Fri 09-Sept-16 07:20:20

It has been the Caipirinhas which have been my downfall. May have to scratch most of the preliminary rounds today. Please turn that sun off and the noise oh typing down?

NanKate Fri 09-Sept-16 07:10:46

Morning All.

I suspect a few of you have been topping up your tans on the Coppacobana Beach when you should have been preparing for your events. hmm come on own up.

annsixty Thu 08-Sept-16 19:54:24

I have been checking for signs but missed them?

Bellanonna Thu 08-Sept-16 19:37:48

Ah that explains it. But somehow knew it was you!

Wobblybits Thu 08-Sept-16 19:36:08

I used to drive an Age Concern bus, when we went down an unmade road, the cry "hang on to your wobbly bits" went up, hence my name. I can boast too many "wobbly bits"
