This opening ceremony - what are we opening? Wine, chocolate biscuits, fruit gums, refreshers?

Teetime Fri 05-Aug-16 06:00:07

Extreme crafts for me Underwater Basket Weaving.

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 04-Aug-16 23:51:02

Granny23 world record holders are always welcome! wink

WilmaKnickersfit Thu 04-Aug-16 23:49:41

MiniMouse we could wait and see if we get another person and make it a 4 x Procrastination team. That sounds very authentic doesn't it?! grin

Jalima did you see the whole clip with Princess Anne and the flag? I thought her ducking down was very funny and Andy nearly poked Seb Coe's eye out with the pointy end at one point! grin

G&T an ice bath for a head injury? shock Did you put her in head first? Hope you packed her cycle helmet for the real event. Hope she feels better soon. flowers

MiniMouse Thu 04-Aug-16 23:37:45

Lisalou Definitely no need to rush, we could decide over the weekend or next week.....

Wilma Now that there are three of us, we could do a procrastination relay!

Sometime wink

Granny23 Thu 04-Aug-16 23:35:09

I set a new world record today for pea picking and podding - can I join the GN team?

Jalima Thu 04-Aug-16 23:09:06

anniebach grin

I blame fat finger syndrome
(could that be an event, how many spelling mistakes can you make with fat fingers in five minutes?)

merlotgran Thu 04-Aug-16 23:06:47

Princess Anne will win the 'Come on, mosquitoes - if you're 'ard enough' competition.

Lisalou Thu 04-Aug-16 23:03:50

Mini Mouse, i will join you in the procrastination event, but i do think we should wait a while!

Anniebach Thu 04-Aug-16 23:03:26

Bring in on Jalima, I'm no coward , stupid yes, coward no

Jalima Thu 04-Aug-16 23:02:09

Andy Murray is winning in the 'Who can Clonk Princess Anne on the Head with the Flag Event' grin

Jalima Thu 04-Aug-16 23:00:42

I think fir me definitely the spelling event
Stiff compertition in that event though anniebach you might not get gold

I have one knee in strapping but am bravely entering the Getting up From Chair - Look No Hands Event
Have been in training for two whole days (it's supposed to strengthen the glutes, I will look like Chris Hoy before long)

Mrs G&T hope you have a swift recovery in time for the opening ceremony

GandTea Thu 04-Aug-16 23:00:37

She is a toned athlete, will be up for a longer trip tomorrow. I was a bit worried, she has a cut on her eyebrow, wow did it bleed, looked worse than it was, but she might have a black eye and a few bruises.

Ok, time for some snoring practice.

DaphneBroon Thu 04-Aug-16 22:44:55

Oh no!! Get wel soon Mrs P (and take more tonic in it in future!)

Anniebach Thu 04-Aug-16 22:41:05

I had to choose spelling, have hand and wrist in strapping , knee in strapping, have low vision , what's left?

GandTea Thu 04-Aug-16 22:36:55

Mrs. P has just been practising the long trip, made 10 feet across the room and split her head open on the edge on the TV table. Physio has her in an ice bath to recover in time for her next trip.

GandTea Thu 04-Aug-16 22:33:44

fiorentina51 Your husband is most welcome to join the team, but he must attend the afternoon nap training sessions, we are taking the event very seriously. We don't want any sleepers on the team.

ginny Thu 04-Aug-16 22:29:44

I'm entering the 'walk 25 yards and then go back again, repeat regularly for around 25 minutes' race. Plenty of practice whilst walking two very elderly and slow dogs.

merlotgran Thu 04-Aug-16 22:18:42

If I don't qualify for the Fosbury Flop I could enter the 'Bum in the Air Pentathlon'

Tying shoelaces for a brogue wearing ex farmer.
Weeding a large perennial border - No gloves allowed.
Mopping up dog/cat muddy footprints.
Picking up socks - including the ones that have managed to find their way under the bed.
And in the final heat......Scrabbling around for the contents of trouser pockets casually thrown over the back of a chair.

dramatictessa Thu 04-Aug-16 22:17:44

Oh, bollix, the crossing out didn't work, spoilt the joke completelyangry

dramatictessa Thu 04-Aug-16 22:16:51

Event! That's it! Knew I'd get it if I just --had a few glasses ofwine--gave my brain a rest.

Anya Thu 04-Aug-16 21:49:53

Annie grin

Maggiemaybe Thu 04-Aug-16 21:20:28

Surely you mean defiantly, Anniebach?

Anniebach Thu 04-Aug-16 21:19:34

I think fir me definitely the spelling event

fiorentina51 Thu 04-Aug-16 21:07:39

May I enter my husband for the synchronised snoring event? He specialises in the window rattling snort.
