I just visualised the wobbleiness in a different place ?

Bellanonna Thu 08-Sept-16 19:21:09

Ah good news!

Wobblybits Thu 08-Sept-16 19:15:16

wink

Bellanonna Thu 08-Sept-16 19:12:09

wobbly. Are you a reincarnation? If so, welcome back.

Greyduster Thu 08-Sept-16 18:42:05

Ladies, perhaps we could have a three legged breaststroke and orchestrated yelping! Different! Got to be worth a try!

Wobblybits Thu 08-Sept-16 18:27:55

Breast stroke for me was orchestrated drowning.

Charleygirl Thu 08-Sept-16 17:50:53

Greyduster if ann cannot manage, I am sure that I can have a go. The minor problem is that I have not been swimming for more than 20 years, Breast stroke was my forte and in my heyday I could do 20 lengths of the swimming pool.

It would help my right knee replacement but I may yelp if my left knee hurts with the unaccustomed exercise. I also have to wear my glasses so that I have a vague idea where I am but we should be fine. The spirit is willing etc.

annsixty Thu 08-Sept-16 17:43:38

Ooh I may weigh you down though, I am not overweight just vertically challenged. You might end up in the air.

Greyduster Thu 08-Sept-16 17:30:10

ann you could join me in the one legged breaststroke event (I've been practising this afternoon - there's definitely medal potential!). You could be the other leg!

NanKate Thu 08-Sept-16 16:17:43

I'm glad Ann your participation in the Games has cheered you up.

Well done for getting Bronze which I find rather odd as there were only two participants You and Donald call me Trump's wife shock I thought you were a lot better than her but of course she may have had more practise at jiggling her parts on the dance floor !

I am sure we can find another sport for you to participate in, once you have recovered from having your white stilettos removed surgically by the Rio medical team.

I am not sure what Mrs. Trump is up to, but I saw her in the company of a good looking Latin type who of course could be her interpreter.

Charleygirl Thu 08-Sept-16 14:30:03

ann I thought that might be the case- I have nothing else to offer unfortunately.

annsixty Thu 08-Sept-16 12:28:30

You read my mind?

Charleygirl Thu 08-Sept-16 12:01:52

ann trainers and jogging bottoms would be a lot safer. My mother used to think that white high heeled shoes were "common" so I never possessed a pair.

I still think that if wearing jogging bottoms and trainers, you should have the Zimmer close by- we do not want any nasty accidents so far away from home. If you want I will organise a ticket for H but it will be single only- the funds will not stretch to a return.

annsixty Thu 08-Sept-16 11:35:09

I am laughing so much, this is doing me so much good as life is absolute s**t at the moment.
Trainers and jogging bottoms wont do then?

Charleygirl Thu 08-Sept-16 11:22:39

ann If you are wearing white stilettos you may need to borrow a Zimmer frame because I doubt if you will be able to stand never mind dance.

NanKate Thu 08-Sept-16 11:19:46

Ann you have been short listed for the Handbag Dancing competition to be held later today. Please turn up on time with a white handbag, white stilettos and a mini skirt. We have got great hopes that you will perform well. Best of luck.

Wobblybits Thu 08-Sept-16 10:33:39

Annsixty, off subject, but.

We recently got together with four friends who all met at the Royal ballroom, Tottenham. Got the girls (LOL) to dance round their handbags so we could chat them up as we did 53 years ago. This time we got a video. Happy days, and we are all still with our then boy/girlfriends.

annsixty Thu 08-Sept-16 10:24:56

Is this a refinement of the sport of dancing round our handbags which we perfected in our youth?
It should be gold first round.

NanKate Thu 08-Sept-16 09:57:36

Well the flag ceremony went reasonably well even though it was dragged along behind the mobility scooter most if the time hmm

We are still looking for competitors for the triangle dancing competition, this is similar to square dancing except you have to play the triangle whilst dancing around a triangular cotton sling. Well I am sure a few of you can provide the slings which will be part of your medical kit. The triangles can be fashioned out of knitting needles.

Charleygirl Thu 08-Sept-16 08:38:35

I was thinking that maybe NanaandGrampy could carry the flag because she uses a mobility scooter. The problem being that she cannot hold the flag and manipulate the scooter at the same time.

Oh Jalima I have definitely lost it- it was nearly bedtime when I was discussing yards instead of metres. Of course you may use your long walking poles- I will be using my stick.

Jalima Wed 07-Sept-16 21:58:45

I can't carry the flag, I am using two walking poles, although I could attach a mini flag to the top of one of them

Jalima Wed 07-Sept-16 21:57:52

Jalima are you suggesting that GNs are nutters? Surely not, I have never "met" such a rational group in my life before.
Certainly not Charleygirl
Gransnetters are the lovely sweet and delicious chocolate surrounding the nut inside grin

I have packed my orthotics and my sturdy shoes and am up for the 100 metre walk or hobble (note metre Charleygirl - we're not out of the EU yet shock)
Am I allowed to use those walking poles, they look very professional and as if I mean business?

NanKate Wed 07-Sept-16 21:41:37

Well it's great to be back in Rio with all the limping, hopping Gransnetters. I am at the Stadium and as yet have not had a glimpse of Ann's crutch. smile

Who is carrying the flag ? It needs someone with strong arms.

NanaandGrampy Wed 07-Sept-16 21:35:19

I'd like to be considered for the mobility scooter sprint. Please leave cake on the finish line ......and stand well back!!

Wobblybits Wed 07-Sept-16 20:52:38

We will , of course, have to upgrade the shed with a wheelchair ramp.
