Isn't there a turning the thermostat up and down competition between the sexes in the winter games?
I volunteer for the apres ski too!

NanKate Tue 20-Sept-16 07:03:03

I am actually a Libran Charleygirl well balanced and easy going - well I think so anyway smile

Yes let's have a well deserved rest.

Charleygirl Mon 19-Sept-16 22:17:51

Thanks NanKate and happy birthday to you also when the day arrives. We are so fortunate to be Virgos and perfect. I am too exhausted to consider winter games and it would not do much for my joint replacement and other pins and plates.

DanniRae A tray with a wicker edge will not survive long- I ma sure we can find something more suitable for you if you insist on taking part.

After your recent hard work and winning a shed load of medals, nobody will mind you taking 4 years off but after a rest of 6 months or so I do suggest that you return to your weekly one hour exercising.

NanKate Mon 19-Sept-16 20:41:17

Well a very happy birthday to you Charleygirl for Thursday and it's my 70th the following Tuesday, so we are both Birthday Girls. flowers flowers Have fun and enjoy getting another year younger.

Wobblybits I have had a trawl through some of the threads and the Panto season seems to have hidden away somewhere. Perhaps you should start a thread on the topic and offer to be the Dame (after your experience one Christmas that you mentioned earlier shock). Perhaps you could borrow a brightly coloured dress and wig.

I suspect I am not going to get any takers for the Winter Games, so perhaps we can all sit back in our winter woollies, clasping cups of hot chocolate and enjoy the spectacle from our armchairs.

DanniRae Mon 19-Sept-16 19:05:50

Ah yes Charleygirl that's a good idea! Wow, I'd hate a soggy bottom.

Will I have to supply my own tray? The only one I have has a picture of a puppy on it and a sort of wicker edge. My dear old dad made it for me at his day centre. hmm

Charleygirl Mon 19-Sept-16 16:37:50

DanniRae may I suggest you use a tray or you will have a very soggy bottom.

DanniRae Mon 19-Sept-16 15:35:00

I like the sound of the Winter Games. Can I do the sliding down a snowy slope on my bum event? I'm very well equipped in that department!

Wobblybits Mon 19-Sept-16 15:22:20

Can anyone guide me to the panto thread, I can't find it.

Winter games ???? Normally hibernate from Mid Nov > April

Charleygirl Mon 19-Sept-16 13:58:50

NanKate that does not give us much time to recover, have a rest and then do the weekly exercises, admittedly only for an hour. I thought that would be a gentle lead up to the Olympics in 4 years time. Like yourself, I am not getting older, on Thursday I will be a year younger.

NanKate Mon 19-Sept-16 13:20:38

I think the Panto is on another thread Wobblybits.

Don't forget in 175 days The a World Winter Games 2017 starts in Austria and I have a high expectation of the Gransnetters to participate.

Please break nothing between now and then. grin Practise your ice skating, tobogagganing and everything that can be done in chilly conditions.

It's time to sort out your thermals.

Wobblybits Mon 19-Sept-16 11:44:10

Now we are home - we are, aren't we ?. Can we start on the Panto production. We seem to have a raft of argumentative threads going on ATM, need something amusing QUICKLY !

Charleygirl Sun 18-Sept-16 18:22:16

NanKate moi aussi- it is a long time since I was at school so please forgive the spelling.

NanKate Sun 18-Sept-16 18:14:36

What an exciting life you have lived Wobblybits.

Well home tomorrow for us all. It's been fun but I need a 4 year break before we all start again.

Thanks to all for their participation. Farewell, Adios, Goodbye. flowers

Wobblybits Sat 17-Sept-16 17:58:39

I did once (in RL) go to a Christmas bash with a cross dresser, it was an interesting evening grin (we didn't know he was a cross dresser until he arrived)

Wobblybits Sat 17-Sept-16 17:53:07

Cross dresser shock, now you tell me. confused

NanKate Sat 17-Sept-16 17:49:25

You certainly did Wobblybits a bit of decorum is needed here in Rio. hmm

There has already been talk about you and a Brazilian cross dresser, no offence meant to any cross dressers at the Paras.

Wobblybits Sat 17-Sept-16 11:24:43

Did I miss the bed hopping event ?

Charleygirl Fri 16-Sept-16 21:29:55

Never mind Wobblybits we will soon be on the plane home, totally exhausted and we will then deserve a really good night's sleep in our own beds. I am fed up bed hopping (you lot have evil minds) going from hotel to hotel because my events have never been in the same city/town.

It has been worth it because we have had loads of fun.

Wobblybits Fri 16-Sept-16 20:05:45

OMG Nankate, surgical stockings + gstring, perhaps I'll jilt the Brazilian lady for that.
I am still looking for an event that my skills are suited to, I did try the staying awake after lunch event, but I missed the start as I had dropped off. sad

Wobblybits Fri 16-Sept-16 19:59:00

I don't want to appear racist, but can I dance with that nice Brazilian lady I met rather than a Polish one ?

NanKate Fri 16-Sept-16 18:57:24

Yes Ann we are depending upon you to get a medal for the pole dancing event, but do you really have to wear surgical stockings and g-string with GN on it ? shock I must admit you do seem a natural.

Bellanonna Fri 16-Sept-16 09:01:47

Just mind thst knee ann, whatever grammar you use to describe it !!

annsixty Fri 16-Sept-16 08:06:09

What terrible English. I have become rather good blush

annsixty Fri 16-Sept-16 07:58:51

Oh, I had been practising the pole dancing thinking it was one of the events.
I have got rather good ?

NanKate Fri 16-Sept-16 07:08:00

I think we are all flagging a bit, but we do have a handbagful of medals to our name.

One last push before we fly home to our cocoa, knitting, and pole dancing grin
