How sad am I. I found such pix on Utube, got diverted by mistake.
The ones there are gross, dont look
Is funeral planning a conversation you've had with your family?
Pension lump sum - what to do with it
Here we are again, happy as can be, all good pals and jolly good company...three cheers and lots of love all round.

NanaandGrampy My goodness, the infected boil looks awfully painful. I had no idea that an ingrowing hair could do that much damage. Please keep us updated. You are bound to feel anxious. I know that I am.
DaphneB I could not have undertaken a journey such as you had to complete in dire weather conditions. It all sounds mega stressful. Thank goodness you enjoyed the gathering. Poor friend, if she hadn't been able to summon assistance...well, it could have been much more serious.
Have a lovely, happy day with family. Pics are a must, not an option.
annsixty That is such sad news.
MacSporran wishes to purchase a new card reader in time for us to take the camera to Glasgow (when we have our family gathering). I haven't had time to catch up with every message. You lot are always awake so much earlier than I am. We had a late start today.
Back as soon as possible.
That looks seriously painful, N&G, she's in the right place to get it sorted.
Need a disappointed emoji Charleygirl, there was I thinking I could have a retirement nest egg.
Hope you aren't wearing yourself out Daphne, but can imagine the fun today.with luck we have a similar day on Friday and possible another on Wednesday. Not counting chickens though.
Take care everyone, sending good wishes to all, especially those having a difficult time.
Look away now if you're delicate
, have attached a photo from when was arrived at triage .... It's now over an inch and half at the centre and the swelling almost encircles her thigh !!
Ann she feels exactly like you ....a hair for goodness sake !!
And now a general anaesthetic for a hair !!
NannaandGrampy
my goodness I've never heard of such a thing. One in growing hair! I do hope your daughter feels better soon.
What a shock for your relations, ann. It's bad enough when tragedy strikes close to home, but to have to go through all the red tape of another country's bureaucracy when still griefstricken, beggars belief.
N&G, who would imagine a hair could cause such awful trouble. Poor thing - you must be quite anxious.
Before anyone complains, I have nothing against pixies you understand #dontwanttogetintoany
No we are not expecting pixies
iPad!! Pictures is what I meant
ann60 dreadful news. So sad for the family and friends.
daphne so glad you had a nice day. Sorry for other GPS though. What a shock breaking leg so badly. Have a lovely day with little Flynn today (we expect pixies)
I would be saying" just a hair for goodness sake" but it now sounds serious so I hope all is well soon.
Good Morning everyone !
You sound so much better ann and what a help your GD has been . That's so nice. I'm really pleased that your knee is progressing well ( even if H is being a bit of a pain !!).
It was salmon for Grampy last night Charlie one of his favourites. Sadly, we DID have some rain so it was an indoor day for the boys but great fun was had by all. On her recent camping holiday with friends Miss Laura enjoyed some freshly caught mackerel done over the campfire and she has informed me its now her new favourite.
Daphne that sounds like just my kind of day ! Sorry to hear the last part of the journey was bad , thank goodness you got home ok. I do love a good family party .
Ann so sorry to hear of your terrible loss. So young . Heart-breaking !!
We were sitting down to recover relax last night when our eldest daughters best friend messaged us to say our daughter was in A & E. Apparently she had an ingrown hair on her inner thigh that had become very sore. In the 2 hours it took to be seen the swelling and redness had become the size of a saucer and her temperature had started to soar. They were going to lance it but apparently the infection is now too deep for that and she will need an operation.
She is going down to surgery this morning . Despite iv antibiotics the red 'circle' is now dinner plate size and covering her whole thigh and beginning to encircle her leg.
She is very calm about it ( but hungry and now very thirsty as they went nil by mouth about 6pm last night.
She's very cross at her ingrown hair
as she feels something so small should not be causing this much trouble.
So I shall spend the morning worrying waiting for news.
Ann that is tragic
I agree, that is awful news ann and so far away from home.
cornergran it is 14 years since I retired from my full time job so the memory of the regulations for redundancy pay etc has faded somewhat but I do not think that you are entitled to it because you have not been doing it for 2 years, also the hours were very variable and you worked less than 16 hours a week.
Oh ann. So sorry for the tragic loss of this young man. Shocking for you all. No words really. Sending love and hugs to you all. Please take care
.
What dreadful news ann. It affects so many people too. Unbearable for his close family.
We had awful news last night. The cousin of my "honarary" GC and step to my DGD was killed in Bulgaria yesterday by a car while on a holiday with several friends. He was 19. One of the girls walking with him is in hospital.
His mother has hardly spoken since receiving the news. Several family members are flying out today and will stay until they can bring him home. He has a 17 year old sister. It is just too awful to contemplate.
Don't push it cornergran!!!
Just a thought - do I qualify for redundancy payment?
.
charleygirl, oh dear
.
.
Daphne such a busy but lovely day for you and DH. Sorry to hear that you had hailstorms when you were driving. I am still waiting for a decent shower, cornergran you are sacked from dancing duties to produce rain here.
Please do not tire yourself out tomorrow Daphne when the family come. Maybe you could take Flynn for a walk in his pram, just the pair of you and you could have a rest on a bench or two and watch the world go by.
Don't envy you that hailstorm, daphne, but the bbq sounds lovely. A real family time. Of course you are tired, why wouldn't you be? Worth it, though! Flynn still to look forward to, wonderful but try not to be exhausted all the time, suspect some you-time would be invaluable. Have fun. Wishing you no hail and lots of
.
Gosh I am tired!! The birthday barbecue was at theirs, not ours so off we pootled up the M1 and 6 about an hour later than I had meant as DH had a dreadful night and only got back to sleep st 6 so I let him sleep, till 10.
All the DDs were there, plus little Flynn and the DGSs and DGD in Birmingham and Basil the dog. The children have a bouncy castle so there was no end of sliding, climbing, bumping into each other, tears, - little boys DO seem to like rough and tumble and Pippa is definitely an honorary boy in that respect. It was lovely, late lunch in the garden, champagne, cake, presents lots of little hands pulling me this way and that although I drew the line at football with Will and Toby(spoilsport) Sadly the other GPS couldn't be there as grandma fell down her stairs last week and broke her leg in 2places plus possibly her ankle. She is in a full leg cast for at least 8 weeks and in a lot of pain. The awful thing was she couldn't get her DH to help as he was down the other end of the garden and is quite deaf anyway so she somehow had to drag herself to the phone to dial 999 and the first he knew about it was the paramedics arriving st their door. Awful!
I am tired largely from the drive both ways, especially the last 15 miles or so as the heavens opened and we had a massive hailstorm and visibility on the motorway was down to your hand in front of your face. I could barely see the junction where we come off and the road to the village was awash. Plus of course it was dark by then as well. Just a bit tense-(me to DH "don't talk, I'm concentrating!!")
DD, SIL and Flynn arrive tomorrow so I had better get off here and be up bright and early!
