As an elderly person, I think Cary Grant, Robert Mitchum, and Gregory Peck would be described as handsome, but can't get enthusiastic about any of today's " stars".
Brad Pitt does nothing for me, ditto Johnny Depp .
Thoughts?

Mad grandma I heard Johnny Depp was coming to live in Norwich haha how these rumours fly

Nvella Mon 26-Sept-16 22:33:21

Currently George Clooney and John Hamm from Mad Men. In the 60s definitely Terence Stamp

I've fancied Rufus Sewell for years, he was wonderful in the Zen series.

Do try the books by Michael Dibdin they are brilliant.

Although, I'm 82, I've been told, I'm still a handsome man.

Babyboomer Mon 26-Sept-16 22:17:32

I think the most attractive men are the ones who can make me laugh (that's with them, not at them!)

Nanna58 Mon 26-Sept-16 20:23:30

Rufus Sewell is lovely, and, oh, how I envy his cheekbones!

SueDonim Mon 26-Sept-16 20:18:45

How could I forget Alan Rickman??? I met him once and his personality was electrifying. I could barely utter a word in response to him I was so overcome despite being a 40-something married mum of four! grin

Any/all of the Musketeers would suit me fine, too.

I rather liked Sanjeev Bhaskar (Indian Doctor series) and Rufus Sewell as Lord M of course.

KatyK Mon 26-Sept-16 19:20:22

Oh yes Martin Shaw is lovely and he's a Brummie like me smile

MadGrandma Mon 26-Sept-16 19:16:04

Oh Robert Horton! As a six year old I had his picture on the wall beside my bed! And I do agree that we sometimes confuse the actor in real life for the character they play. But I believe both my fancies (Martin Shaw and Alex O'Loughlin) are genuine caring people in real life too.
On a slightly different note, word on the street is that Johhny Depp wants to move to Colchester, England. Saw it on Facebook so must be true! Expect house prices to rocket locally.

KatyK Mon 26-Sept-16 19:14:07

hulahoop Mon 26-Sept-16 19:12:13

KatyK Mon 26-Sept-16 19:00:07

mancgirl I remember Cheyenne Body very well. Some parents were calling their children Cheyenne. I was saying to DH the other day 'I wonder if those kids changed their name?' I also remember Sugarfoot (Will Hutchins I think). He was lovely too smile

mancgirl Mon 26-Sept-16 18:56:16

KatyK. Can't believe you said Flint McCulloch! I only mentioned him 2 days ago to some friends at lunch. Then out came Cheyanne Brody and Clint Eastwood! How often do these posts get to 7 pages?!

Whilst I should not admit to it, as a kid I was totally in love with Scott from Thunderbirds in the 60's. It was his voice which I still think was gorgeous.
Robert Powell, who I discovered in the 70's. I cried when his character Toby Wren died in Doomwatch.
Now in my dotage, it has to be Sean Connery.
However. To all of you ladies out there that have been watching Brendan Coyle in that famous BBC drama that I have not seen, but I believe that he is a butler.
Well, CHECK him out in a Catherine Cookson period drama on a dvd called 'The Glass Virgin'.
Oh Yum.
He is GORGEOUS.?

KatyK Mon 26-Sept-16 18:41:37

Anyone remember Robert Horton who played Flint McCulloch in Wagon Train (I think)? I was very young then but my sister had a huge crush on him and I can see why.

AnneGran Mon 26-Sept-16 18:31:19

So many gorgeous looking men out there but I like the sound of you Wobblybits! I always had a soft spot for men with a great sense of humour who could make me laugh! Much more long lasting than good looks! ??

rubylady Mon 26-Sept-16 17:54:56

My handsome men are James McAvoy, small, but then they're all the same size lying down! grin, Henning When, a German comedian, and Merlin Griffiths from the First Dates restaurant, the mixologist/barman, gorgeous in looks and in nature. smile

Who finds women attractive? I once proclaimed in a bar that I wouldn't kick Catherine Zeta Jones out of bed, and I do like Diane Keaton too.

Kitspurr Mon 26-Sept-16 17:52:11

Aiden Turner, no, Aiden Shaw, model, yes. Def not Bryan Brown, makes my skin crawl.

Laurence Fox, a lovely British actor.

Rapunzel100 Mon 26-Sept-16 17:47:51

Can anyone remember Troy Donahue from 'A Summer Place'? Used to think he was gorgeous.
