As an elderly person, I think Cary Grant, Robert Mitchum, and Gregory Peck would be described as handsome, but can't get enthusiastic about any of today's " stars".
Brad Pitt does nothing for me, ditto Johnny Depp .
Thoughts?

God yes! Terence Stamp! Rufus Sewell too. ?

James Mason was my all time favourite. Not just his face but his voice.

Peaseblossom Mon 26-Sept-16 15:21:45

Richard Burton didn't
do a thing for me. Bad skin and not attractive, apart from his voice.

Marti Pellow is gorgeous but my old 6ft blue eyed scaffolder is even better.

Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp are my favourites. Can't see the attraction with Daniel Craig. Quite ugly. Robert Mitchum had charisma, but rather slitty eyes. Young Sean Connery had charisma and looks. The best Bond.

Peaseblossom Mon 26-Sept-16 15:07:44

Really? I think Matt Damon is plain.

Paul Newman is/was the most beautiful person ever to have lived, in my opinion.

Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Jonny Depp, not for me.

Jeff Bridges, Geoff Goldblum, Keanu Reeves, Tom Selleck, Javier Bardem, Ricardo Darín, all gorge.

KatyK Mon 26-Sept-16 14:50:52

Not forgetting Cillian Murphy!

Daddima Mon 26-Sept-16 14:50:47

I've seen mentions of lots of " attractive" men, but not all are what I'd call handsome!
I'd forgotten Richard Chamberlain, who was very handsome back in the day, as were Steve McQueen and Sidney Poitier.

Martin Shaw, Gordon Ramsay, Alan Rickman, and Sam Neill have all rung my bell in recent years!

KatyK Mon 26-Sept-16 14:49:14

I agree re John Bon Jovi. The was on The One Show last week, he is lovely smile

Paul Newman I could gaze at for hours; Terence Stamp was possibly the best looking man of the sixties. 'Have to say Brad Pitt looks podgy and sulky - not a real turn on. Benedict Cumberbatch does absolutely nothing for me - but Rufus Sewell; well - that's my kinda man. Well - as Lord Melbourne he certainly is.

Eye of the beholder for me. Isn't it good we don't all have the same taste or there might be a huge shortage of one type. I believe the media are guilty of bombarding us with 'special people'. Let's not be brainwashed by them.

DanniRae Mon 26-Sept-16 14:21:52

A young David Essex - GORGEOUS grin

foxie Mon 26-Sept-16 14:01:55

The men don't do anything for me but I like ladies though <G>

Rosieroe Mon 26-Sept-16 14:00:44

No one has mentioned Tom Cruise! He used to always be at the top of the lists of 'world's sexiest men' and for the life of me I could never understand why. Now Tom Selleck (minus the Hawaian shirts) was a hunk.

Margsus Mon 26-Sept-16 13:43:53

The actor who plays Rakesh Kotecha in Emmerdale - yummy!

Tegan Mon 26-Sept-16 13:31:36

Have never seen Outlander, but did mean to buy theboxset to keep me going till GoT's is out on DVD again (don't have Sky so am a series behind). Don't like Clint Eastwood at all now because of his politics. Back in the day I was a Gill Favor(sp) fan. Anyone remember Horst Bucholz (so)? Find John Hurt very attractive now he (and I) are old!

Galena Mon 26-Sept-16 13:30:24

Alan Rickman, Peter Capaldi and David Tennant all set my heart a-flutter. I had a crush on Peter Capaldi from when he was in Local Hero, and he's got better with age!

NonnaW Mon 26-Sept-16 13:28:28

Ummm, who is Rufus Sewell? I used to love Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Omar Sharif, Terence Stamp (those eyes!), Peter McEnery, all the McGann brothers. Though not handsome, I used to find Charles Bronson very attractive.

oldgoose Mon 26-Sept-16 13:14:55

I like men to look a bit rough round the edges, but as we are talking handsome:-
Bradley Cooper - possibly the only up to date man that I like. The rest don't do it for me at all.
Poldark - dark and dreamy
Colin Firth - all stiff upper lip on the outside - but who knows what on the inside.
I tend to REALLY like men that no-one else likes for example Jonathan Pryce (especially in Evita) Peter Kay (cuddly, cute and hilarious) and James May ( ex Top Gear presenter).

Grandelly54 Mon 26-Sept-16 13:11:36

I love Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman defo no! Johnny Depp YES, Pierce Brosnan NO, Aiden Turner, Rufus Sewell YES, YES, but really, handsome is in the eye of the beholder. I think my husband is handsome, but many would disagree. I think Art Malik is a sexy as hell. Oh well.

helenmabr Mon 26-Sept-16 13:04:27

Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser in Outlander.... Knocks all the others into a cocked hat!!!!

sarahellenwhitney Mon 26-Sept-16 13:01:01

Don't we fall for the part they play on screen.? I drooled over Rufus Sewell as Lord M in the series Victoria. Having observed him in a recent TV interview his laid back cool and composed attitude had me drooling all over again.
Who knows but in real life and off screen were we to meet them we could find these guys a complete turn off.
However Clint Eastwood 'Bridges of Madison County'and now in his eighties will for ever be the one.

Smithy Mon 26-Sept-16 12:52:45

Used to like Mel Gibson but gone right off him. (Sure he will be upset to hear that!)

Greyduster Mon 26-Sept-16 12:50:55

How could I have neglected Martin Shaw?? I'm ashamed of myself!
