As an elderly person, I think Cary Grant, Robert Mitchum, and Gregory Peck would be described as handsome, but can't get enthusiastic about any of today's " stars".
Brad Pitt does nothing for me, ditto Johnny Depp .
Thoughts?

Aiden Turner as Poldark, think he would make a great James Bond. Paul Newman with his sparkling blue eyes, and yes to Pierce Brosnan.

Aiden Turner- lost for words at his handsomeness! Gorgeous.
More realistically, George Clooney and Pierce Brosnan (not good in Mamma Mia though!)

Oh defiintely you Mr Wobbly. You'll do ( you've got a fun loving lovely face) wink grin

On the other hand this is my, by no means exhaustive, list of actors I'd watch if they were just reading the paper...
Tom Hardy
Tom Selleck
Mark Harmon
Vin Diesel
Hugh Jackman
Hayden Christensen
Sacha Baron Cohen
and of course, the uniquely beautiful Gregory Peck.
Most of them have the plus of being intelligent, genuinely good blokes in real life which clinches it for me!

(Johnny Depp may be eye candy, but who needs visual diabetes?)

Tom Burke in The Musketeers - possibly not conventionally handsome but very compelling on screen

Gala Mon 26-Sept-16 12:06:41

This is my first post, just couldn't resist.
Luke Pasqualino - D'Artagnan in The Musketeers & Elvis in Our Girl - not a 'star' (yet) but currently getting a lot of telly time. Ticks all the boxes for me.

Well, yes ... "Lord M"! (How could Victoria possibly have been attracted to that wimp Albert when she had Rufus Sewell at her beck and call!) But I agree, they don't make film stars like they used to.

Jennieantliff Mon 26-Sept-16 12:03:23

Christunefrance I agree with Rufus Sewell nd Sean Bean as Sharpe, but how about Omar Sharif in Lawrence and Dr Zhivago smile. Or Alexander Siddiq? Mmm

Lilypops Mon 26-Sept-16 11:59:58

Martin Shaw as Judge John Deed,so sexy, I would follow him to his chambers anytime !,

Lilypops Mon 26-Sept-16 11:57:08

Martin Shaw, Rufus Sewell, and Monty Don , that's all I want ,

rolosgran2 Mon 26-Sept-16 11:49:21

Yes had forgotten Martin Shaw !

rolosgran2 Mon 26-Sept-16 11:48:37

Adore everything about Bruce Springsteen and I was a huge JohnnThaw fan.
Not into the modern day ' stars' .

MadGrandma Mon 26-Sept-16 11:45:39

I have to admit to a serious crush on Martin Shaw! Maybe not so much now, but his voice just makes me curl inside! However I am fickle as I now could REALLY fancy Alex O'Loughton from the new Hawaii 5-0 series. He's young enough to be my son, but I can be a cougar as good as anyone! He's my screensaver on my laptop!

Jalima Mon 26-Sept-16 11:38:36

I had to look up Mark Harmon, but yes yes, yes!

(Calm down dear)

dorcas1950 Mon 26-Sept-16 11:37:47

Merlotgran, I am right with you: Rufus Sewell, Mark Rylance, James Nesbitt, Philip Glenister, Bruce Springsteen, Alan Rickman ....

AbiN Mon 26-Sept-16 11:37:46

I definitely do believe in 'handsome is as handsome does' but...I'd be prepared to sacrifice my principles for Poldark. Or George Clooney. Or Benedict Cumberbatch. Does this make me shallow?

WeLoveNewYork Mon 26-Sept-16 11:35:38

Oops, it should read 'Shall We Dance'.

Jalima Mon 26-Sept-16 11:35:26

That lovely young man on Strictly, I think he's a sports presenter, Ore Aduba, I don't usually listen to the sports news but he is very easy on the eye

grannylyn65 Mon 26-Sept-16 11:34:53

Oh yes,!Mark Harmon!

WeLoveNewYork Mon 26-Sept-16 11:34:08

The Muskateers that has just finished showing on BBC1, they were all mostly good looking. I still like Richard Gere too, think he has aged well, love him in 'Shall We Dance@.

Neversaydie Mon 26-Sept-16 11:29:47

Simon Rattle anyone ?Bit like Monty Don...I married DH for his mind But a girl can dream...

Jalima Mon 26-Sept-16 11:23:49

Rufus Sewell, Robert Redford (a few years ago)

Definitely NOT Cucumberpatch!
His looks are very strange.

Personally, I like a nice personality and a GSOH
I like Monty Don but went off him a bit when he told us global warming would result in the UK having a Mediterranean climate, replant with drought-proof plants, then it rained in Biblical proportions and they all rotted.

Neversaydie Mon 26-Sept-16 11:23:26

Forgot about Alan Rickman How could I Swoons ...

Neversaydie Mon 26-Sept-16 11:22:19

Johnny Depp is a 'bad boy'isn't he ..if you want a 'bit of rough'
Bradley Cooper He has twinkly eyes
And George Clooney always seems such a gentleman
Just catching up Outlander and am in love witJamie But don't know actors name

MammaN Mon 26-Sept-16 11:19:19

Forgot Idris Elba ... and Colin Firth (when he's playing the right part) ... shallow? hmm
