Pensionpat A Perfect Husband was also my first thought smile

If I had a perfect wife, she would spell check my posts hmm

Wobblybits Thu 06-Oct-16 13:08:06

Well no argument there, I always though Mrs P was perfect smile

I could ask my husband, but not sure I dare! grin

I don't know what makes a perfect wife but I do know I'd hate to meet her! I like imperfections. They are what makes people interesting.

Dear Godangry! Why would anyone want to be the perfect wife?? And who would actually want the perfect husband? The film ' The Stepford Wives' was fictional ,or at least I hope it was. I need half an hour on Mumsnet now to regain my equilibrium.

I asked Grampy.... He said ,'no such thing as a perfect wife and the one he's got suits him down to the ground '

I think that's a sort of maybe compliment smile

Marrying a woman from Stepford! wink

ninathenana Thu 06-Oct-16 14:45:04

Mumsy did you mean to write that ? grin
If so us heterosexuals have no hope !

Teetime Thu 06-Oct-16 14:49:57

I am far from perfect as a wife but I like what DH said about me in his laconic way - he said marriage to me is an adventure- int that great!!

M0nica Thu 06-Oct-16 15:26:01

The perfect wife knows she isn't perfect.

Mumsy Thu 06-Oct-16 16:31:55

Ninathenana, was making a reference to the film The Stepford Wives lol

kittylester Thu 06-Oct-16 16:49:02

The perfect husband would make his wife feel perfect even if she isn't!

grumppa Thu 06-Oct-16 17:29:58

The perfect wife would be insufferable; who can live with perfection unless one is perfect oneself? And I'm not.

Wobblybits Thu 06-Oct-16 17:49:58

So what we seem to be saying is that the perfect partner has imperfections. Which means that there is hope for all of us, especially me. Annoying traits may be another matter, when I think of women I know, I could not live with any of them as they all have little traits that would get to me quite quickly (and visa versa probably), perhaps it's due to 53 years of living together, but I can't think of an annoying trait that Mrs P has. (I'm not going to risk asking her about mine)

Just asked the obvious question in a new thread (well obvious to me)
