Not to myself out loud too much, except perhaps for the odd expletive, but I used to talk to our dog (RIP, bless her) all the time, often in a baby-talk voice, 'Mummy love oo!' etc.
Was once in full baby-talk mode with her while imagining myself quite alone in the park. Then heard a stifled snort and realised that there were two blokes sitting up in a very big old tree, wetting themselves laughing.
At least I made someone laugh that day - it wasn't entirely wasted.

. I find I get very sensible replies and I don't get contradicted. Also helps me remember things if I say it out loud. Just have to remember not to do it when going round shops!
