Oh, & I shower in the morning & take my PJs off to sleep makes in bed - can't stand clothes rucking up
‘The ‘professionals’ - finally finished, phew!
Wrong side driving social media stunt
Met up with two friends and partner/husband yesterday and they both apparently get undressed for bed quite early in the evening putting on pjs and dressing gowns and settle down to some TV before going up later.
I don't do this I wait till I stagger up the stairs, usually after falling asleep in the chair for a bit beforehand. Maybe I should try this as they say they like to do it.
Oh, & I shower in the morning & take my PJs off to sleep makes in bed - can't stand clothes rucking up
I'm with Shanma - during the winter months, it's a nice hot bath at 7 whilst listening to the Archers & then into PJs to curl up on the sofa. DDIL & DGS get theirs on as soon as he gets in from nursery at 6 during the dark nights - why not? It fits with this hugge thing which seems to be sweeping the country - it's not just a Danish thing!
We also go to bed naked why not? Mind you our heating is on 22c 24/7 these cold days. Naked sleeping is recommended for a good nights sleep,we have no trouble sleeping so we must be doing something right.
I am hoping to get one of those fleecy pj's for my xmas as I don't have any. I do put my shortie pj's and dressing gown on about an hour before bed
DD has introduced this habit into the family. I usually change into night attire, nightdress, nice warm dressing gown and slippers between 8.30 and 9.00 and come downstairs, so that when I am tired and want to go to bed I can just go upstairs and climb in, without having to potter around changing and washing and waking myself up again.
The morning is different, I am a lark, if I am not up bathed and dressed by 7.00am, I must be under the weather.
Thanks SparklyGrandma I do worry sometimes that it's only me sitting in my jamas watching something I missed!
I agree trisher I have already watched The Crown twice all the way through on that streaming service we can get. Boxed sets and dvd's great for retirement.
Same here, Caretaker. So, no we don't.
Well it depends on how I feel, sometimes I do sometimes I don't. Sometimes I have a shower, sometimes I have a bath, have even been known to have a bath in the afternoon if I feel like it. Surely the wonderful thing about retirement is you don't have to stick to a routine any more and you can do what you like when you like. Catch up TV, recordings and boxed sets are wonderful things to help you out with this!
Never have, pjs go on in bedroom I don't even stay in pjs when I m ill
Shower every morning haven't bathed for years
Caretaker bragging again You wouldn't sleep nude in my house you'd get hyperthermia blue skins not a good look
Winter where I live in Canada is pretty nippy at night so when the day is done it is a hot bath,Jammie's on and my recorded episode of Corrie all at 7.30pm.Life is Good
Too flaming cold not to in my house!
We sleep nude always have done. Never seen the point of dressing to go to bed.
Chatting with friends the other evening ,I mentioned I remembered 50 years ago my mum changing into different clothes in the evening before dad got home ! I don't change into PJ's in the early evening as I can't be bothered ,but often find myself still in a dressing gown at 10am sometimes having been up since 6.30 . I shower in the mornings to loosen my stiff joints !
I don't like anything round my legs in bed, I get too hot, so I sleep in a cami top and knickers. I'm another with "house trousers" for evening wear. As soon as I get in from work I change into elasticated waist jeans and a baggy jumper. Never wear either of these out of the house/garden, so you can imagine just how casual they are.
Shower every morning, can't get out of the bath easily these days and my hair needs washing every morning or I look like a scarecrow and it is an easy routine to wash it in the shower. I don't think I gather enough dirt in my office job to worry about going to bed without bathing.
I hate a dressing gown flapping round my legs so once the PJs are on - usually around 9pm, I wear a baggy jumper on top. Same first thing in the morning.
Depends on the season, the darker the days the earlier I put on my pj's. But it cheat a bit,I have fleecy but 'respectable' pj's for lounging in case anyone calls, then have bog standard pj's for actually sleeping in!
When I was working I changed into tracksuit bottoms and casual top when I got in from work. Now I sometimes change into night clothes (t-shirt nightie and dressing gown) after a shower mid evening. Otherwise I change when I go to bed. I still have family at home and there's often other people here so wouldn't go braless or in nightwear with young people around.
Never wear nightclothes other than in bed. Fully dressed till I decide to go to bed; up, showered and dressed in the morning. Seems quite a leisurely idea to get ready for bed early, stay in PJs in the morning but not sure I could cope with the 'guilt'
Pyjamas go on at bed time, but when at home, and no one coming, I wear my 'house' trousers and shoes, (don't like slippers, just old trainers), and in winter a, a fleece, or one of my old, real wool cardigans. My current house trousers are Primark lounging trousers, but are often just ones that are past their best, but comfortable. I feel a bit like an invalid if in nightwear before bed time.
What night clothes?
On winters evenings when I come in, zip up fleecy M&S dressing gown on over indoor clothes whilst place warms up with CH.
Evening shower then into nightwear and fleecy dressing gown and fleecy socks rather than slippers to read/watch TV. If its even colder, have a fleecy throw on the sofa to snuggle under.
I had a coal fire for a while 10 years ago, nostalgia got me in its grip - but not for long as it was hard work - but after work what bliss to snuggle in front of a proper fire.
I just have a shower when I need one, no set time or frequency, now let me think, I am probably due for one in January!
Barmyoldbat I got some pj's from Thailand once. Gorgegous turquoise silky ones with trousers, top and jacket!
Victoria08 When I worked full time, I had to have a bath at night to help with the bad back, then a shower in the morning to get the stiffness out before leaving house at 7.30am as I worked on my feet standing on a very hard floor a good part of the day.
It all depends on when I take a bath/shower. I like pjs for winter, nice and warm, nightdress for summer.
My youngest and his wife seem to stay in their dressing gowns until lunch on a Sunday. They play with their two sons so the time goes really fast. Oldest grandson and mum and dad sleep in until about eleven o clock at weekends. After a hard week's grafting they need to relax.
Oldest son has always been the same. He is up at first light doing something ie running, mountain biking, swimming, comes back and showers and starts pottering about. GS is the same as his Dad. GD is like Mum, needs her sleep at the weekends. Then slop about in pjs until lunch time.
Weekdays they all are up, dressed and out to nursery/school/work so no time for resting or wasting time
OH and I are usually up and about dressed at 8.30am and in bed by 9pm. Well, there's nothing worth watching on tv is there?
