Really hope the rest helps soop, anti biotics can cause so much discomfort. If bed rest doesn't clear it please think of another visit to the doctor, or at least a chat on the phone, it could be the new ones just don't agree with you. Xx flowers and some cupcake if you can manage it.

soop Mon 05-Dec-16 13:01:21

I've said it more than once but you lot are amazing, kind, considerate, funny and so much more. flowers

The latest photos of grandchildren are bursting with joy. Thank you for sharing with us.

I'm taking to my bed this afternoon. I haven't a hint of a cold...haven't had one in yonks. The frequency of the UTIs means that I'm overloaded with medication and the antibio's are playing havoc with my gut and causing head pain. The GP changed the tablets on Friday. It's possible that things will settle down before too long. I'm simply wiped-out. Bed beckons.

Sending a big, comforting group hug. xx

kittylester Mon 05-Dec-16 12:35:13

I think I know who you are meeting. I'm sure everyone in the kitchen sends her huge love and hugs.

I'm having a little sit down as I've just wrapped 36 pigs in blankets and made the sauce for a pasta bake for 18. I've also filled, iced and decorated a chocolate sponge.

Lovely photo nandg - don't they grow up quickly?

soop, how are you today? brewcupcake

annodomini Mon 05-Dec-16 10:58:41

Lona, glad to hear you are having a meet-up. I would be up for it too, since we live a stonesthrow from each other!

DaphneBroon Mon 05-Dec-16 10:52:35

Who are you meeting lona (ignore, if that breaches anonymity) I hope you get on as well with her as I have on the few occasions I have met Grans in RL.
I am still smarting from yesterday's cooking fiasco - I used to think I was a good cook, but that shattered my confidence and I am so tempted just to buy something in tchsad
I too hope soop is turning the corner healthwise, if not, then straight to the Doctor for a blood test, general check-up or whatever it takes.
McSporran we are counting on you!

Lona Mon 05-Dec-16 10:01:54

soop I do hope you're feeling a bit better today, we are worrying about you. ?
I must get out of my pjs and go shopping, I haven't eaten a single mince pie yet and I'm feeling the need!
My very first meet up with a Gnetter tomorrow and I'm excited sunshinesmile

NanaandGrampy Mon 05-Dec-16 08:34:39

Good Morning all !

Hope you're feeling a little better soop !!

Sorry to hear about the 'pie disaster' Daphne ...I was looking forward to seeing it. But as you say there's time to perfect it ...but what will you do differently? I am very interested as never having attempted something similar I'm keen to try. Young Flynn is growing apace... where does the time go?

Baubles I feel your pain re the sewing machine. I got a replacement one a couple of years agi and despite much 'faffing' I cannot get the tension right. Returned it to Brother and they adjusted it and said its fine but still it not working and is now a giant door stop in my craft room :-(

Welcome Peeps cheese scones...erm I mean Peep of course...but they sound delicious !!

We're off to collect Cooper shortly for swimming . We're trying to find a time that works for all of us as late afternoon swims are hard for him as that's nap time. Its Jacksons actual birthday today and we called in yesterday to leave our present...I have posted a pic. I think it was well received .

Back later when I have a little more time xx

Marelli Mon 05-Dec-16 06:42:56

I often pop in for a quick nosey on 'Soop's thread', but don't often post.
Soop, will you go to the doc's, please? Don't like the sound of how you're feeling. You need to be all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for Christmas. Xx

callgirl1 Sun 04-Dec-16 23:28:17

Dear Soop, PLEASE listen to everyone, we really don`t want you to get any worse, so please get yourself down to the surgery as soon as possible!
Lovely pics everyone, I see that Grace is her usual GRACEful self! And Oscar is just so cute.

annodomini Sun 04-Dec-16 19:52:35

Soop, please be very careful with your health. You are so important to us. flowers

Peep Sun 04-Dec-16 18:44:46

Thank you Soop. I'm leaving a basket of cheese scones and some freshly churned butter, I quite like a scone instead of cake. They need to be eaten fairly quickly!
Hope you feel better soon.

baubles Sun 04-Dec-16 18:09:52

I've just made Eve's Pudding, there's cream or ice cream, help yourselves.

Soop please take care of yourself, I hope you are soon back on top form.

There are some adorable pets in the kitchen. For the first time in many years we are a one pet household. My wee cat died a couple of months ago and I still miss her quiet presence in the house. The same week we discovered that our almost 10 year old cocker has breast cancer. She's had 3 lots of surgery but the vet now recommends that she has all of her mammery glands stripped out, poor wee thing.

Having made several fabric Christmas coasters, my machine is now playing silly buggers and I can't get the tension right. Heyho tomorrow's another day and I'll be off to Edinburgh for our Christmas meet up. smile

Nelliemoser Sun 04-Dec-16 17:54:48

After not visiting our little boys for three weeks with my cough's and their colds, the bigger little boy has been asking when we are coming to see him. That has cheered me up.

I certainly feel better than I did a week ago. I might just be able to sing at choir tomorrow. Keep well all!

kittylester Sun 04-Dec-16 17:45:47

I wouldn't add to the stress, Db, Mr Waitrose make perfectly liwvely pies! Actually, my butcher does - can you find a local butcher who does one too - and, of course, lie through your teeth! grin

As it was you Lona, we'll say no more about it! cupcake

Charley, at this time of year I watch my figure get bigger! grin

We are having lamb tagine which is smelling divine. The lamb was destined for another day but things move fast round here and things change. A leisurely lunch for dh and I between Christmas and new year has become lunch for 8!! No doubt it will change again and I will wish I had a nice handy pack of frozen lamb rather than spag bol by the gallon.

Hey ho as someone says!!grin

cornergran Sun 04-Dec-16 17:36:36

Just brought some fresh mince pies, not quite cake but maybe they will do? smile.

Flynn is just lovely daphne. aren't they such a joy. Our littlest rations his cuddles swanny but not his smiles, no cuddles unless exhaustion has set in but beaming smiles all the time. We can cope!

Oh soop it could be more than one infection you are fighting. It really wouldn't hurt to get some medical advice. Just sometimes we all need to be sensible.

Lona Sun 04-Dec-16 17:25:00

Oh dear kitty It was me wot ate all that cake! ??
?
Soop when are you going to start being sensible and doing as you're told?!! Do we have to set bags onto you?
We can get her to have a word with MacS !
Please look after yourself xx

Swanny Sun 04-Dec-16 17:23:39

What a handsome wee chap Daphne smile I bet he gives what my DGS calls lovely huggles grin

Charleygirl Sun 04-Dec-16 17:18:07

Delighted to hear that Grace and Flynn were well catered for. At least the pie was edible even if a sight for sore eyes. I am having coq au vin, courtesy of Mr. Waitrose.

DaphneBroon Sun 04-Dec-16 17:13:48

Not "integrating" - disintegrating!!!

DaphneBroon Sun 04-Dec-16 17:12:38

I would like to donate to the kitchen the remains of my raised turkey and ham pie, but it was such an unmitigated disaster dahling, as soon as I tried to slice it, integrating so that what went on the plates looked as appetising as a dish of cold sick .
It tasted OK but you would have laughed yourselves silly at the mess!!
Back to the drawing board sad

What a good thing this was a dress rehearsal we might be trying a lot of pies before I get it right and if all else fails, there's Mr Waitrose!
Little visitor didn't seem too put out, he was having baby mush, actually that's what I should have done with the pie remains. As it was Grace had an extra special doggy dinner

Charleygirl Sun 04-Dec-16 16:59:08

kitty I am not guilty- I am watching my figure- admittedly I am not making a good job of that simple task as food does seem to slip by.

soop please listen to Daphne, just this once! MacSporran does not want to be dialing for an ambulance in the middle of the night.

kittylester Sun 04-Dec-16 16:47:08

Coo, soop, do as you're told - Db is getting stern! grin

Actually, I agree with her - we don't want you back in hospital, do we?

I'm surprised to find no cake left after all that has been brought into the new kitchen - who ate it? I shall have to make do with the cupcakes I kept back appear to have forgotten to send to the library cake sale!

Charleygirl Sun 04-Dec-16 16:41:20

soop if you are not careful us lot will be hiking to the far north to take care of you and you will be sorry! Please could you spend some time in bed? If you cannot get warm sitting in your chair in front of a fire- when will you accept that you are not well?

Rory is the sensible one in that house not wanting to venture outdoors. Tara used to be like that with rain and snow but not any longer- she only wants to get out, away from a cosy comfortable house where she could doze like Rory 24/7. Please look after yourself.

DaphneBroon Sun 04-Dec-16 16:38:26

Soop from my profound medical knowledge I would say it is possible that you have the flu if not even pneumonia.
Please, please see somebody tomorrow if you don't want to be laid up for weeks.
I am actually being quite serious [serious] emoticon

soop Sun 04-Dec-16 16:34:12

corner I hope that you have a very happy time with littlest. You sound well and truly prepared.

The cake needs sampling. Us lot will help out. I wish.

I'm wearing so much clobber, including a gilet and bed socks. Aches continue and I can't seem to get warm. MacSporran has lit the fire. I shall return to my chair and doze.

Earlier, I made a fatal error of judgement - tiddled with the watercolour painting that had promise. Tiddling = muddying. Washed muddiness and lost definition. A pig's ear accurately sums up the consequences. What was promising now resides in the bin. When will I ever learn to leave well alone?

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday evening. Take good care of yourselves.
Until tomorrow smile moon
