So now I can't believe it's not butter is getting a name change -- n original name was obviously not long enough-- So on your shopping list (if you buy the spread) make room for I can't believe it's so good... For everything
You cant beat real butter, I love lurpak..As for my dog,she would eat anything that she sees me eat,but I am strict with what I let her have just the odd lick of ice cream etc. She does enjoy her dog food so has a good life.
I will only have real butter, and what's more it's French and contains salt crystals!Mmm - delicious and totally natural. Cherrytree59 are you from Northamptonshire - I don't know anywhere else where they say DUG for dog!
We do use spreadable butter as well as the blocks. Country Life is just butter, salt and rapeseed oil (which we use anyway). But I might give that President spreadable a try.
Grey duster...we like President spreadable, which says "no vegetable oils", but still doesn't actually call itself butter. Looking at the ingredients, the spreadability is provided by some added cream, which I suppose is not technically butter....?.
When this came out in the US, we got fed up with the name and in our family shortened it to ICBM's (like the missile) vs a proper acronym of ICBINB. Gave us a chuckle till we discovered Benecol. Much better! For cooking I use unsalted butter.
I read once that margarine is a few molecules away from plastic, that it never goes off, and flies don't bother with it. A man on the radio said that his father was an industrial chemist, and had told him NEVER to eat margarine. That sent me scuttling back to the Lurpak unsalted, where I have remained ever since. Given that information, I wonder if 'I can't believe it's not plastic' might be a better name change.
Reminds me of the Alice character in Vicar of Dibley......."I can't believe it's not 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter". I can't believe that they think a corny name change will boost sales. ?
I was wondering what this thread was about - vinegar, coconut oil.... Ah no, it's margarine, the latest miracle product
Does anyone actually like this stuff? My sister used to insist she hated butter back in the day and would only eat the old block marge. There was a great Geordie word that described it perfectly - claggy.
