They have access to HMRC which is why it all happened so quickly. The daft bit is why they don't look for other income rather than just PAYE before someone eg the mother of the children, suggests it - or the Idiot owns up!

Just a thought, why don't the CMS liaise with HMRC or is that too easy?

What does CMS stand for? I thought it was Church Missionary Society!! Presumably it has placed CSA.

I started a thread a week or so ago saying how impressed I was with CMS.

We knew it wouldn't be straight forward so thought you'd like an update

A fortnight after dd contacted them, cms notified her of the amount thea******e her exhusband will be required to pay for their 2 children - £7 pw - based on his earnings.

Dd rang to ask if they took unearned income into account and was told that they didn't unless they knew about it. DD told them he was a Company Director and received a dividend so they accessed HMRC records while she was on the phone and said 'oh yes, so he does!' and said they would go back to him for more information. She also told them he has a rental property!

Baffling!
