I quite enjoy a teaser title, it only takes seconds to click, get the jist of the OP and come out again if it not of interest.

What kitty said.

I agree with Merlot really, serious ones should be clear but the others are a bit serendipitous!

I quite like them too!

I like a mystery grin

I understand where Newquay is coming from but it is sometimes difficult to think of an apt and short heading.

I think if it's a serious subject like a terrorist attack or somebody dying then the heading should be clear otherwise there's a risk of multiple threads being set up on the same subject.

and don't forget how easily threads get off the original subject smile

I quite like 'teaser' headings.

Oh we are all a bit sharp this morning, don't worry. Newquay it was a reasonable question.
Sometimes I find the actual question bears little resemblance to the heading but that can be interesting in itself. smile

Yes I think it's unreasonable to expect it and if you have not got the 2 seconds of your life spare to click on a heading, read a few words and then decide if it's for you or not then I would say you don't really have time for the forum at all.
Not everyone has confidence in finding the correct heading but really needs to get something off their chest so spend time doing that and not finding a suitable or appropriate heading .

They often do, sometimes go on st such length there is little left to say, but an eye-catching "headline" is fine by me.
(Shouldn't this be in AIBU by the way? Not I'm bothered, but one word headings don't bother me eithersmile )

Yes you are!

Life is too short to waste time looking at discussions when heading is unclear. Just a clue would do then you would know whether it's the sort of thing you would read.
