Children's Zip up warm dressing gown

I have consulted Mrs Google and checked out Amazon, M&S and similar online stores .

I can buy a zip up onesie
(This is not a onesie/ plimsoll post!)
Or a wrap over belted dressing gown.
But as grandsons are 2 and 4,
a onesie presents toilet difficulties, speed is of the essence!
The wrap over belted gowns can come open and gape.
The belts if removed become lost or hazard.

A couple of nice warm zip up gowns would fit the bill nicely.
Has any GNers spotted such an item lately online or in a store?

It's beyond me why nobody is making these.
I made them for my daughter and nieces when they were toddlers.
Someone's missing a trick.

A few years ago I bought one for GD, it was a Moomin one and came from their online shop.

Petra you are so right.
Unfortunately I'm hopeless at sewing wouldn't know one end of a zip from anotherconfused.

can you buy a tie one and get someone to put a zip into it ?

Donann do one but I've never bought anything from them so don't know the quality.

paddyann I think a tie one would have cross over front so difficult to add zip.

wildswan thanks for the link.
As it seems virtually impossible to buy from a main store, I think I might order from them

I agree they are as rare as hens teeth these days, but our DC had zip up fleecy dressing gowns years ago.Belts can be a danger to small children.

wildswan they look so cute don't they bit expensive though when you start adding the ears etc but will probably last a good few years by the look of them.

Why not try a website that sells beachwear, they have zip ups with hoods that could double as a dressing gown.

harrigran that's a good idea
I will check out.
Only fly in the ointment is they may not have the cosiness I had hoped for.smile
