Well as usual a genuine thread of birthday greetings for the people who wanted to wish Jingle a Happy Birthday has been ambushed by the few who still have the ability to ruin a thread by their childish behaviour.
It was clear by the title what the thread was about so why open it, just scroll past
Sorry everyone I hadn't been back to check the thread, I have had a lot going on at home, but never in a hundred years did I imagine that all hell would break out.
WARNING
Just to let you know next September the 28th there will be a thread posted Jingle for anyone who would like to pass birthday wishes on to her!!!!
I don't mind TriciaF entirely up to you. Sometimes it's nothing to do with the name, some people mix me and durhamjen up, but that's to do with political allegiance. I don't think it matters. Probably just as well they've introduced the colour thing for your own postings that way at least I know what I have said
Maybe I'm strange but I never wonder where posters are or if they are someone else with a new name. I just take them at face value. It's all bit complicated and involved for me.
I'm really glad all has been explained. I'd more or less sussed Notme, missed Jalima (glad she's not changing names, I have problems with names), but you Lemongrove have had me thinking. You know, the way you meet someone in the street who you recognise and know - but can't place? So pleased all is now clear.
I have posted this before. When I spoke out in support of another GN member to whom jings was very rude she was very nasty to me. It is a long time ago, water under the bridge as far as I am concerned. She has "done her time" and if she wants to come back, she should. We can only judge as we find. She will fit in well now, we have lots of outspoken members. Jings is mild to some.
Jalima will be back soon, she is not changing names, just very busy.? I had assumed most posters knew Lemon was me (R) but didn’t want to make a big thing of it for personal reasons. I did try and let a lot of posters know by pm, am only saying this on this particular thread, as posters were wondering where I was.?
No criticism intended - but it's been found it seems! {smile] We are proving point here I think.
'Fluffy' and 'sugary' are often used regarding postings...I think that's commonly recognised on most forums across the tinterweb.
I didn't say gentle people or people of any sort were 'fluffy' or 'sugary'. Some posts are, and that's OK - horses for courses etc.
I like to think I am as gentle as they come but I am not the type to post fluffy stuff. My good friend is, but she is the strongest person I know. You could rely on her in any crisis. I am more direct but have the soppy, very sentimental side which is often my downfall. She makes me see sense.
We are all different and have different posting styles and that is perfectly ok - in fact it's good! Variety is the spice of life.
Day6 I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's people wanting to be liked, needy people as in you disagree with me, so you don't like me. Why would you worry about someone you don't know and really has little imput into your RL.
Day6 wrote "Elitism -Is it to do with how frequently someone expresses their views, with how well/strongly they express their views? Or something else?
A good point Baggs. I have to agree." As it was me who started elitism, I have to reply, but at this time am too noodled. ( ie tired out) See you tomorrow.
There are people on the forum who regularly treat their fellow posters far worse than Jingle ever treated anyone - with contempt for their views or disparaging remarks about their intelligence rather than frank disgreement and amazement. Some of them seem to put a high value on their own lifestyles and a low one on the ways other people live, too.
