threatening phone call

We had this scam call a year or so ago, a woman with an American accent, ending with a typically American saying.
HMRC would write rather than phone you, if genuine.
They are aware of this going round.

I have just answered the phone to a phone call from 'HM Revenue and Customs'. It was a recorded message asking me to phone what I think is a London number. I was a bit surprised and didn't get the chance to write the number down. It was quite threatening but ended with 'have a blessed day'!!!
I think I am safe in ignoring it.
