Went to pick up GD from school today. Noticed that there was some sort of after school sports activity going on which her friend was taking part in. Wondering what she was wearing (looked a bit skimpy) and my GD said she was doing it in her pants (I mean literally her knickers rather than shorts or anything) because she didn't have her PE kit with her. Should I mention this to her mum.?

Jalima grin - that could be it!
So don't buy M&S knickers.

Bellanonna Thu 23-Nov-17 11:51:20

They used to have a good range in knickers, but have dropped the saintly label.

Jalima1108 Thu 23-Nov-17 11:32:20

ps if one of them was called Margaret, then M&S used to do ranges called St Margaret and St Michael

Does that help at all Fennel?

Jesus is God
His friend (amongst others) could be John the Baptist (cousin)
Whose mother was Elizabeth

Although his best friend was Simon Peter - we know about his MIL but who was his mother?

I've only just read this thread, because I was puzzled by the title.ie
God's friend - Jesus
Jesus' Mum - Mary.
So what has Mary got to do with p.e. clothing??

I want my share of "with it" as well. Do you think we could get a bulk buy discount?

craftynan Wed 22-Nov-17 21:01:45

gringringrin

MissAdventure Wed 22-Nov-17 20:58:37

Well, if you do, could you get me some "with it" too, please?

craftynan Wed 22-Nov-17 20:48:42

Think I’m going to have to get a bit more “with it” !!!!

nanaK54 Wed 22-Nov-17 20:48:14

purposefully that's not what I mean is it? Purposely is that what I mean?
No idea should get back to bins grin

craftynan Wed 22-Nov-17 20:47:37

Aaah, thank you so much x

MissAdventure Wed 22-Nov-17 20:46:40

So, that's why we're talking 'rubbish', literally. grin

nanaK54 Wed 22-Nov-17 20:46:32

Phew!

Thought that I was going to have to send you a pm craftynan - I wouldn't purposefully upset anyone, that's not my style smile

craftynan Wed 22-Nov-17 20:38:28

Oh, sorry, hadn’t grasped why thread had got sidetracked ?

MissAdventure Wed 22-Nov-17 20:34:27

Oh, it wasn't anyone dictating, craftynan! Its just that its a second thread started by the same person about girls, P.E, and knickers. We decided not to play along, so just had a general chat, instead flowers

nanaK54 Wed 22-Nov-17 20:32:26

Noooooo - come back craftynan I was only pulling your leg..........

craftynan Wed 22-Nov-17 20:29:08

Ok, I’ll bow out gracefully and let the “regulars” dictate how a thread should progress. Just won’t bother again.

If your bins are dotted around the town Cherry do you have to walk with rubbish bags to get to them I don’t drive so how far would I have to lug a heavy smelly bin bag

MissAdventure Wed 22-Nov-17 19:08:37

Well, where I live, nobody recycles or anything. We have just 2 big wheely bins provided by the council, and nothing else.

OurKid1 Wed 22-Nov-17 19:06:08

Now we need a GNetter in LA to explain their bin system ... anyone?

nanaK54 Wed 22-Nov-17 19:05:25

Bins and trips to LA are so much more interesting craftynan grin

OurKid1 Wed 22-Nov-17 19:04:42

CherryHatrick Wow, that's a post and a half that is! Your bin collection system sounds complicated - how on earth to do you remember which is which, which day it is, what goes in which bin ...? Sounds an excellent system though - once you've understood it all. I'm particularly jealous that the bin-men sweep up. We're lucky if they put the various receptacles back outside the right house.

Elegran Wed 22-Nov-17 18:50:51

sad Thought we'd successfully got away from it, craftynan

craftynan Wed 22-Nov-17 18:44:06

Back to the knickers theme - we had to do gym in our aertex shirts and knickers but whereas a few people have mentioned pockets in theirs mine certainly didn’t have them and I don’t remember anyone else having them. Mind you, my mum refused to let me have nylon stretch knickers and made me wear droopy cotton ones!

CherryHatrick Wed 22-Nov-17 18:24:35

I might be making you all jealous here, but where I live, we don't have personal bins, we have colour coded street bins, large ones with an access flap on top. The grey ones for food and compostable waste are emptied daily, the yellow plastics/packaging containers three times a week and the blue paper/cardboard once weekly by a private company contracted by the Council. At strategic points in our area there are green glass bins emptied by a glass recycling company, and purple textile recycling bins that are emptied by a private company as well. I live in Spain, in a town of roughly 20,000 inhabitants. We pay for rubbish collection separately from Council tax, €180 a year, but only €10 if you are a pensioner on a basic income. The savings are made on manpower as one man drives the truck and it has an arm that picks up the bin and tips it into his truck without him having to leave his cab. About once a month a small bowser truck comes along and cleans out the bins. Each area has a different designated day for garden refuse collection. This is left at the side of the bins; small refuse in black bags and branches tied together. A truck with a grabber arm collects it and two men brush up the remaining bits.
