I've been in all day because of the snow, I'm on the sofa and now I've eaten all the milk chocolate brandy snaps from the M & S box I bought for Christmas. The next layer down are the plain chocolate ones....
Help!

About a month ago I bought 6 Terry's chocolate oranges for the GCs as stocking fillers. I have gradually eaten my way through the lot and I don't even like them!!!

AlieOxon Mon 11-Dec-17 10:26:14

I must not buy chocolate, I must not buy chocolate.

I had icecream and hot chocolate sauce - for breakfast.

Thank goodness I have to go out today.
Being out will wake me up and cheer me up!
I used to LIKE snow....

I rather think I will get the usual mint chocs from my sister's partner though

Just off to check out M&S online for chocolate covered brandy snaps. Anyone tried the French chocolate covered Crepes Dentelles? To die for.

At our age I feel we are entitled to spoil ourselves. Have another chocolate for me

Jaycee5 Mon 11-Dec-17 10:10:00

There is no point me buying Christmas chocolates this early. I have finally had to accept that chocolates get eaten quickly. I have won some Thorntons chocolates in a competition and am waiting for them. I will put them in the bottom of a cupboard and be strict with myself this year. Not optimistic but I'll try.

Sigh. Am filled with self loathing. A box of soft nougat called to me from the cupboard where it was safely stashed for wrapping and giving away. It seemed rude to ignore this call.
We don't have any snow. No excuses. blush

Sadly not Danni but it may have gone stale anyway if left in the cupboard.Popcorn never keeps long ( in our house.)

DanniRae Mon 11-Dec-17 09:10:05

I diligently put half a large bag of popcorn (sweet and salty) in a bowl. Sealed up the rest and left them in the kitchen. Sat on sofa, ate popcorn and then thought "Oh, bother (or another word??) I am going to eat the rest!" And I did!! I am sure that popcorn is good for you (fibre?) so a whole bag is better for me than half a bag?? Surely that is true, eh? blush

That’s very disappointing Artyfarty I was particularly looking forward to those choccies, and anyway I already have the nostril hair trimmers, as I decided last week that wearing my nostril hair in plaits was a bit old fashioned.
I will settle for a giant Toblerone though! tchsmile

I think there is a serious threat to my Waitrose Stollen Slices today. I've got a cold and they have known therapeutic properties.

I remember my sister getting an empty selection box one Christmas, she was about ten. I asked how that happened and she told me she found it hiding under the sofa and helped herself to an item every day or two and then put it back. I don't know whether mother knew and wrapped it anyway or was blissfully unaware tchgrin

Chewbacca Sun 10-Dec-17 22:42:19

grin Adtyfarty brilliant! grin

Artyfarty Sun 10-Dec-17 22:34:19

lemongrove Don’t worry about the salted chocky caramels. They were awful, you wouldn’t have enjoyed them. Instead I have decided to recycle the rubbish gifts I received from so called friends last year. I have earmarked the nostril hair trimmers for you, only used a couple of times.

Eglantine21 Sun 10-Dec-17 22:30:50

Resisted the dark chocolate brandy snaps but did eat crisps.
Now I'll go to bed out of temptations way.
Hopefully the snow will be gone tomorrow or those brandy snaps don't stand a chance!

Who ate the other halves of the scotch egg and tuna sandwich?

Willow500 Sun 10-Dec-17 21:26:44

I've not been too well for the last few days so not eaten a lot but sat this afternoon/evening and watched the last two Planet of the Apes films and in that time ate half a scotch egg, half a tuna sandwich, an orange ice lolly, sausage, mash, peas and gravy and a Fry's mint cream bar! Not all at the same time I might add!

lemongrove Sun 10-Dec-17 21:10:35

Artyfarty....am very upset, you promised me those salted caramel chocs and a book for Christmas....now I will only get the book! Yes, it’s me! You are sussed! tchgrin

tidyskatemum Sun 10-Dec-17 20:56:40

I must be weird. Not tempted by chocolate at all, though I'll eat one if offered. DH always moans that he buys me Easter eggs that I then take weeks to eat.

sunseeker Sun 10-Dec-17 20:09:37

Really what are you worried about - chocolate is made from beans, beans are vegetables so you are having one of your five a day - you are being healthy!

Jalima1108 Sun 10-Dec-17 20:00:15

I could buy some for a friend - she doesn't like marzipan so I would have to eat them myself
[thinks] hmm

Jalima1108 Sun 10-Dec-17 19:58:58

No - I have wrapped up some very nice posh chocolate today, there was a spare block and I nearly succumbed. But you never know who may give you an unexpected present.

I still keep thinking about it though hmm

Squiffy Sun 10-Dec-17 19:33:22

Chew Thanks for the info. We don’t have a Lidl near us, so I’ll see who I can coerce/beg to buy some for me. I have been very nice to DD & DS this year ..... tchgrin

Chewbacca Sun 10-Dec-17 19:07:43

Squiffy they were from Lidl. A substantial box for £1.49. Really thick wodge of marzipan with a thick layer of black cherry sauce, encased in dark chocolate. They did them with orange, rum or black cherry.

Mine were supposed to go in a food hamper I'm preparing but, as they've now been eaten, I'll just have to go all the way back to Lidl and buy some more oh drat!

Jane10 Sun 10-Dec-17 18:57:07

Black cherry marzipan, chocolate brandy snaps, salted caramels, ooooo, just ooooo!

Squiffy Sun 10-Dec-17 18:55:23

Ooh Chewbacca where did you buy them from? They sound divine and I really need some!
