I've been in all day because of the snow, I'm on the sofa and now I've eaten all the milk chocolate brandy snaps from the M & S box I bought for Christmas. The next layer down are the plain chocolate ones....
Help!

I would love to indulge but in bed with horrible tummy bug. Have polished off many boxes of chocolates in similar circumstances!

cavaliermum Mon 11-Dec-17 18:04:39

Oh dear
Thank goodness it’s not just me

Need to get out tomorrow to replace before grandchildren arrive .....

I was given a present last week and told to put it in the fridge until Christmas. It was a pack of 5 cheeses.
Mmmmmm, I enjoyed them. They lasted 3 days.

Chocolate is good for you - it releases 'happy hormones' so it is therapeutic. Self denial is not good for you whatever people might say; it causes frustration and unhappiness, which then permeates the atmosphere and spoils life for everyone around you. Think of others! Don't be selfish! Eat chocolate and make the world a happier place.

And dark chocolate contains iron so it is good for you too!

Barmeyoldbat Mon 11-Dec-17 14:15:02

Oh my goodness what chance do I stand, I am home on Thursday and Ican already taste the chocolate liquors I put away for Christmas I have been chocolate free for 5 weeks due to the heat and I know I will just binge and put back all the weight I have lost

I’m with you tidyskatemum ...chocolate doesn’t do it for me either..or my 5 year old granddaughter... she’s still got a very large Easter egg ...8 months..not bad restraint for a littly!

I just made the excuse I had to get the bus into town as I'd run out of lentils...Didn't really need to go out in the cold but was eyeing the cheeseboard & vintage port....at noon.

Glad your test results were good. Celebrate by eating whatever you fancy and a glass of good cheer.

After all the hard work in the run up to Christmas, we all deserve a little indulgence. I am now up to my eleventh one, with a promise of more to come. Why not , I ask myself.tchsmile

We haven't had any snow here (Glasgow) - just four days of glorious sunshine (albeit extremely cold both yesterday and today). Just back from a long walk (12,000+ steps) and feeling very virtuous. Think I deserve a reward!

starbird Mon 11-Dec-17 12:44:12

With me it was a box of Ferro Rocher (luckily a small one). Thank goodness I can go out today or I would be opening the M&S tin of assorted luxury biscuits - I love the chocolate log ones (look like brandy snaps but brown) - correction, I love them all!

Coco51 Mon 11-Dec-17 12:31:09

You had a duty to make sure the christmas goodies were up to scratch. You have gone over and beyond the call of duty. You deserve a chocolate medal!

grandtanteJE65 Mon 11-Dec-17 12:08:33

Aren't you the lucky one, Eglantine. I was out at 8 a.m. yesterday and 8.30 a. m. this morning sweeping snow off the front path and the pavement along our front garden, all 14 ft of it, then salting same area. So I will willingly change places with you!

Householders are required by law here to clear snow from the pavement in front of their property, so I am thankful it is nice, dry, light-weight snow that can be swept, instead of being shovelled.

goldengirl Mon 11-Dec-17 12:02:51

We've had 4 inches of snow and it's fortunately beginning to melt today but I'm nervous about going out in the slush and falling over - it doesn't take much! So yesterday I did my cards, read, pootled and ate nuts and sultanas and really missed my daily outdoor exercise. I'm sure I've put on weight again as a result. Oh yes, I must own up to having a piece - just a piece - of dark chocolate which I love. Snow makes me fat!!!

Legs55 Mon 11-Dec-17 11:50:00

I to can't resist dark chocolate, have eaten some of mine which were meant for Christmas/New Year oh dear I will just have to buy some more tchgrin

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 11-Dec-17 11:24:51

I know the feeling. I've lost some weight but I fear I may self-sabotage any further success.
I've got some cooking chocolate in the kitchen cupboard, a large slab of which only about 70% of which is required for the recipe I've got in mind. So happened to the other part that isn't needed? I ate it of course. Oh dear.

Sheilasue Mon 11-Dec-17 11:22:30

It’s fatal when your on your own at home comfort eating but this time of year it’s not easy

Jane10 Mon 11-Dec-17 11:14:33

I'm so happy to hear that it's not just me!! smile

Coconut Mon 11-Dec-17 11:03:24

Put a fat photo on the fridge ! Of course you can always send me the plain chocs if you don’t want them !!

tonibolt Mon 11-Dec-17 10:44:48

The soft nougat I buy for Christmas went yesterday, and I feel slightly ashamed to say I’ve started on another box that was intended as part of a gift. I just hope there is some left when I can get out, as it was particularly requested!

Eglantine21 Mon 11-Dec-17 10:42:11

Mine mine not men. Am missing lover blush blush

HellsBells Mon 11-Dec-17 10:41:52

Eglantine21 Mon 11-Dec-17 10:40:49
