If it was free, what personal servant would you have?

Following on from another thread which related that the Queen has a Piper to wake her up, what would you like to have to help you out?
I think I would have a chef, healthy meals prepared for me
( they would have to do the food shop as well and be able to hide anything fattening) then when I reached my ideal weight, a loyal dressmaker.
Actually a Chauffeur might be nice too. I don’t think that one servant will be enough!

MissAdventure

I need someone to do everything for me.

Me too. ?.

Redhead56 Thu 07-Apr-22 12:12:16

Wouldn't have a servant even for free.

alexjackman01 Thu 07-Apr-22 12:10:13

Cuz I meant what I said that I’m open if anyone else is. Of course, for free.

MissAdventure Thu 07-Apr-22 12:04:21

I'm sure I could include that. smile

alexjackman01 Thu 07-Apr-22 12:02:57

Does that include getting foot massages?

I'm another wanting a genie. Not the hassle of really having to manage lists of things to be done..just thinking..oh the wind I'd getting up & I forgot to put the seedling trays away..click of the fingers & it's done. Instead I have had to put on my fleece, garden clogs , abandon the soup making, go to put said seedlings back in the greenhouse, hair blown all over the place, wash hands again and return to slicing leeks! With a genie to call on I could have just got on reading my book! grin

I already have a cleaner - in fact they came today! I also have a gardener. Someone to valet and wash my car would be nice. Living in the country means it gets splashed with mud.

Hi Cherrytree 59, I thought that Genie's only allowed you 3 wishes? You would have to word it very carefully.

I'm with Envious - I’d want a masseuse/masseur and have a massage any time I wanted!

I’d like a dental hygienist to clean my teeth , after the perfect chef has cooked and cleaned up the kitchen

Definitely a chauffeur who can do garden in spare time.

alexjackman01 Thu 07-Apr-22 11:31:34

My honest apologies, truthfully. I didn’t mean it in a paid way.

alexjackman01 Thu 07-Apr-22 11:24:27

I could do it for free. I’m sorry if I came off weird, it wasn’t supposed to be like that.

I would love to have a ‘my man’ who would be responsible for ALL house maintenance inside and out. To be able to hand over my, to do list, would be bliss.

Coastpath Thu 07-Apr-22 11:10:34

I like gardening but never seem to get the garden straight so find it hard to relax when sitting in it.

Oh yes, I know the feeling. Settle down with a coffee + spot a weed + half an hour later = cold coffee.

Scribbles

I'd love to have a chauffeur/ general maintenance/ handyperson with counselling skills.

Same here plus a gardener. I like gardening but never seem to get the garden straight so find it hard to relax when sitting in it.

And someone to give me pedicures/manicures and facials

And a hairdresser. I am rubbish at doing my own hair

GagaJo Thu 07-Apr-22 10:54:31

Cleaner AND cook. But not live in. I want the house to myself.

BlueSky Thu 07-Apr-22 10:47:41

Definitely a cleaner! My DH laughs when I say I’ll get myself a part time job cleaning. grin

I’m with you on the introvert comment coastpath

Pammie1 Thu 07-Apr-22 10:35:01

I have a physical disability and housework has become increasingly difficult as the condition deteriorates. At the moment I’m very lucky to be able to have a lovely cleaning lady who comes in for 3 hours every other week. I have to be selective with the time available so that she does the things I find hardest to manage. I would love to be able to afford to increase the hours to take more of the pressure off. I love the suggestion upthread of a genie in a bottle though - a twitch of the nose and a few magic words and it would all be done !!

Coastpath Thu 07-Apr-22 10:25:54

Bum. I didn't notice it was such an old thread.

merlotgran Thu 07-Apr-22 10:23:24

This thread is four years old and I’ve spotted my post which said I’d like a housekeeper.

A lot has happened in my life since then and I no longer have need of a housekeeper but a chauffeur would be marvellous.

Now I’ve moved I’m totally done with long distance driving. I couldn’t care less if I never see the M25 again. How lovely it would be to whistle up ‘Parker’ and be whisked off to anywhere I fancy, picking up friends or family on the way.

How many of you would still go with your first choice?

Does anyone still need a servant? I’m really looking to get into that industry.

My email is [email protected] if so.

I think you missed the word 'free' in the original post alex.

No servant for me. I'm an introvert and having someone around would be harder work for me than doing my own chores. Those holidays where you get a butler are my idea of hell - I'd have to give him 50 quid on day one and ask him not to come back for a fortnight.
