It makes me feel tired just watching some of the dancing of the earlier decades. I was most active, as far as dancing is concerned, in the '70s and as far as I can remember we danced in groups, handbags on the floor and we sort of shuffled around and stepped from side to side occasionally. It wasn't at all energetic.
If I look at old Top of the Pops programmes it always strikes me that most of the dancers in the audience were shufflers too, with expressionless faces.
