Not allowing the children in my class to use the toilet during lessons (year 4).

SpanielNanny Fri 30-Mar-18 18:20:32

Honestly? I wholeheartedly disagree with it. I can understand the need to stop children playing silly beggars and going backwards and forwards, but stop children who genuinely need to use the toilet from going seems cruel.

Anniebach Fri 30-Mar-18 18:24:25

I think it is wrong

Cherrytree59 Fri 30-Mar-18 18:27:47

smile Easter schools out

MissAdventure Fri 30-Mar-18 18:31:00

hmm

Chewbacca Fri 30-Mar-18 18:33:48

Again? Flippin 'eck, school holidays come around quickly these days. hmm

But just to enter into the spirit of the OP, I agree with you but I would go further. All children should be allowed to go to the toilet just before school term begins and not again until term ends 6 weeks later. That should cause absolutely no disruption to your lessons at all. Sorted! grin

Chewbacca grin

They should be allowed extra time, though, if they're wearing onesies.

Anniebach Fri 30-Mar-18 18:39:17

Problem solved by Chewbacca aided by Jalima . Are onesies school uniform now ? ?

kittylester Fri 30-Mar-18 18:41:05

Just gringrin

Anniebach Fri 30-Mar-18 18:43:34

Off topic but I confess, when starting in the grammar school the uniform was navy knickers with white knickers under them, first couple of days I tended to forget to pull the white down blush

Jalima1108 Fri 30-Mar-18 18:43:53

Only children wearing the right footwear should be allowed to go to the toilet you can choose which style you prefer- Ugg style boots or sand shoes.

Chewbacca Fri 30-Mar-18 18:54:28

Hang on everyone...... what if...... one of the children in the class is wearing a pair of plimsols and another wants to wear a pair of trainers that mark him out as gay and everyone stares at him?shock We need to give this further consideration OP.

Anniebach Fri 30-Mar-18 18:55:16

Chewbacca, my poor Mum when I took them out of my satchel thought i was distressed in the new school, I even got cuddles and an extra custard cream ?

MawBroon Fri 30-Mar-18 18:58:49

Yawn or giggle?

Chewbacca Fri 30-Mar-18 19:03:04

Win, win then Annie! I have to confess that I had to come home from school in a pair of knickers from the "lost property bin" after my little accident! No reward for that!

mcem Fri 30-Mar-18 19:03:08

Absolutely right!
When I was teaching it was hugely preferable to clear up numerous puddles rather than let them go!!
As for amusing wind-ups..........must try harder!

MissAdventure Fri 30-Mar-18 19:06:59

I find it creepy.

Anniebach Fri 30-Mar-18 19:16:28

Wonder how one loses one's knickers ?

Nanawind Fri 30-Mar-18 19:22:33

Wildlady I bet the children love having you as a teacher NOT.
