I don't like what I see of the Markle woman. Too 'out there', often messy hair and inappropriate clothes, leading weak Harry by the nose and too touchy feely in public.
Her family are best kept behind clsed doors, which is where I would have liked her to stay.
Elvis Presley once said/sang that 'the world's a stage and each of us play a part' but I'm afraid that the spotlight will never be on Meghan Markle, much as she might want to hog it. That circle of light belongs to Catherine and her family.
I thought it wrong to have Harry's wedding date so close to Kate's due date. It doesn't give her much time to settle into a feeding routine with her new son and regain her svelte figure.
Maybe that's what she hopes...who knows.
Personally, I don't think she's an asset nor is she beautiful. She definitely wouldn't look twice at Harry if he was an actor or a company exec. His position drew her and, if the media is correct, that was her goal many years ago.

This talk of the innocent Diana still goes on and on. Charles Spencer and his mother in law had one of the three sisters lined up for the throne. Why did Diana say about being a virgin 'I knew I had to keep myself tidy '. And she was ignorant of how the Windsors lived, she was part of the inner circle, lived at Sandringham, holidayed at Balmoral, her father was part of the queens household, her grandmother Lady Fermoy was close friend and lady in waiting to the Q,M. Her sister Sarah was first in line for the role, it didn't work so Diana stepped in. She was not the innocent lamb to the slaughter . She said she didn't think Sarah was right for Charles !

Diana was a young very naïve girl and as such she found herself being manipulated regardless of her feelings.
She quickly grew to realise that she had merely been chosen to provide an heir for the dithering Prince Charles, who should have married the lady he loved (Camilla) when he first had the chance. Sadly in time Diana realised her husband did not love her and she had been used merely as a 'rent-a-womb' Such a shame that she wasn't emotionally strong enough to stand up for herself in the early days.
Fergie, was a much more out-spoken 'jolly hockey sticks' young girl and stood up to the family as best she could and although divorce was the same outcome for her as it had been for Diana she wasn't persecuted emotionally in quite the same way.
If Meghan appears as a confident, self-assured young lady then good for her, I hope she is. The days of women, be they royal or not, simply toeing the line and being demure and obedient without question have gone. Marriage for royals should be for the same reason as we commoners get wed... because we love each other and regardless of what others think of our choice our happiness is paramount.

As for picking faults for such trivial matters as she fiddles with her hair?!! Maybe this young lady who may appear as confidence personified is in fact bloody terrified of the media circus standing in front of her.

I wish the soon to be married couple 'All the Best' the same as I would wish any couple getting married. I sincerely hope they both stay strong and can together learn to say 'NO' to the royal establishment when or if they feel they are trying to dictate how they should think just because something is against the documented historical protocol.

The birth of tbe new Prince means that Harry is bumped down to 6th spot.
1) Queen Elizabeth 11
2) Prince Charles
3) Prince William
4) Prince George
5) Princess Charlotte
6) The new Prince
7) Prince Harry (if Wills and Kate have another child, that child will precede Harry)

When Charles becomes King they all move up one place.
Prince George's children (if/when he has any) will take precedence over Princess Charlotte and so it follows with subsequent family members.
Harry will never get a look-in.

Is it just me who thinks it was very convenient that the baby was born on St George’s day ? My cynical mind wonders if it was part of the grand plan?

And even if you try to plan a baby they never come on the right day. And I doubt it was a planned caesarean as she wouldn't be up and holding the baby hours afterwards.

On the other hand, it was a big ask to show a newborn off so soon after the birth, so well done Kate.
Chatting to DD today and she said she was shocked that Kate appeared so soon after the birth and that she should have been allowed a bit longer before appearing in public.

Most of the British probably take them for granted and think they are better than having a President eg Trump.

Can we decide on the name of Catherine Duchess of Cambridge once and for all in the news media they continue to call her Kate Middleton as if she is still single and not a member of the royal family! You might as well call her Mrs Windsor instead.

What a fuss over the birth of yet another royal parasite who will never have to do a real day's work in his life, will get the best education & health care just because his ancestors were pushier and grabbier than ours. Though in a way I feel sorry for this lot. I remember what a servant once said to the Woolworths heiress, " No-one will ever love you for who you are, only for your money." Cruel, but the royal family must suffer from overly-deferential people sucking up to them all the time. I hope the media leave the latest Royal sprog alone but I doubt they will.

I doubt Kate was induced as this is now her third go in... four and a bit years?

I’m afraid as someone on a third go in an even shorter timescale, the pelvic floor is not what it was and induction really will not be necessary

She looked well when she left, thankfully. If the world media was going to take a photo of me hours after I gave birth, I would have my hairdresser there as well!

I love the idea that she had a hairdresser on site. If I had had to present my offspring to the public soon after giving birth, it wouldn’t have looked nearly so glamorous. On the other hand, it was a big ask to show a newborn off so soon after the birth, so well done Kate.

Camilla was deemed unsuitable for Charles long before she ever married Andrew Parker Bowles because she was not aristocratic, therefore not grand enough for the heir to the throne , and to “breed” the subsequent heir - according to the conventions of the time.
A lot of trouble would have been saved if they had been less stuffy but William and Harry would not have been who they are. A lot of tears willhave been shed in the meantime but I do think the outcome is the right one for them both (Charles and Camilla).

On another forum I'm hearing of the awful problems people have had for three weeks+, trying to get to outpatient appoints at that that hospital. Disabled parking bays filled with TV camera vans, all roads closed around the hospital so no parking there.
I think it's absolutely wrong - she could have had the baby in the palace with docs attending, and even a helicopter would be easily arranged if need be. Why should one person person monopolise an entire hospital??
I'm happy to see a nice healthy new baby, but how many other mums gave birth on the same day and have no food in the cupboard, no nice clothes to wear, and no hope of anything changing anytime soon?
I'm just not cut out to be a peasant and fawn over the damn royals, and I won't.

I think the OP was being light hearted. Its great news that the Royal Couple have had a healthy son. Its a shame that level of care isnt available to everyone.

I have always been on the Princess Diana side of the fence Having watched the 'Real Camilla' I was impressed by her sensitivity.The thought most in my mine 'why' was she considered unsuitable to be Charles wife and mother for future heirs .Yes, she was divorced which may have been at the forefront but eventually allowed to marry Charles.
We will never know.
