I only did the back windows too!
I hoping for really loud music at your birthday bash Rufus. Then I can sing and no one will hear!
Children’s lung capacity in London has increased
Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like another hot balmy day here in brackley , but usual day out will have as much water as it is possible to drink with me.
Mick
I only did the back windows too!
I hoping for really loud music at your birthday bash Rufus. Then I can sing and no one will hear!
I’m not allowed to sing Rufus, it makes dogs howl for a five mile radius.
Nfk; You're being too modest!
But you ignored Mark Twain's advice and didn't put off your cleaning, shame! You put me on the spot, forcing me to window clean today to avoid embarrassment! Admittedly I only did those at the back, too cold out there to hang about, but like Johnny Cash would say "I can see clearly now", the garden that is!
I can't and didn't sing either, lacking George's banjolele to mask the racket, so silence prevailed apart from the muttered curse whenever I tipped the bucket.!
At least we can both feel virtuous at a job well done.
Take care and Good Health.
Ignore my comment Annie I see you are already on Wednesday, I'm losing it!
Hi Annie this was yesterday's thread, I only went on it to tell Rufus about arrangements for his virtual birthday party. Come and join us on GM Wednesday.
Good morning all x
Rufus Your music choice will be fine by me, but I am more of a Blues fan so would a few tunes from B.B. King, Willie Dixon and maybe even the Rolling Stones be acceptable to you ?
I would be happy to do the DJing at the disco. ??
NanKate; Wow! A Virtual Birthday Party! What a brilliant idea. Cool , Awesome!
How many Rufus admirers would be coming, do you think? Any Groovy Grandads? All would be welcome.
I'd love to wake up on the 8th. (please note in your virtual diary!) to find a multitude of postings of the "Happy Birthday, Darling xxx" type cascading into my Inbox! My cup would indeed be runneth over.
In your dreams, Rufus!
However, I'm afraid my virtual birthday music playlist wouldn't lend itself to a lively DJ party; more for lying back in the armchair with nostalgic dreaming of all the Great Deeds I could/should have done, accompanied by a bottle or three of S.A. Shiraz of course.
Anyway, it will be a Sunday so must keep the noise down.
Ray Conniff, Max Raabe, Stephane Grappelli/ Django Reinhardt; etc; that sort of thing; all before your time I'm afraid.
The count-down is now on!
See you later and meanwhile Good Health
Nfk I am able to drive as it's my left leg and cars are automatic. The problem I have is my car is large 4X4, Husbands is low and 'sporty, both equally difficult to get in and out of in my incapacitated situation. I am sure I amuse neighbours and passers by though.
Try to make the most of your enforced relaxation GannyGravy. I am. I just walked to the shops and back, stood chatting for too long and am also now lying here with knee above hip!
I’m really glad I don’t have a cast, it must be a bit hot and itchy if you’re in this heat.
Two and a half weeks for me before I see the consultant and get the go ahead to drive - although I couldn’t even think of that yet, I live in hope.
I’m not allowed to sing Rufus, it makes dogs howl for a five mile radius. George Formby used to have a rather nice house on the Broads near here, it’s on the market right now but a bit out of our price bracket!
Good morning all ? Hot and sunny here in SE Essex.
Hayfever sort of under control.
Have sent Husband out to retrieve GS's. car seat that he left in my car when he dropped it in at the garage yesterday, long story, hoping it is not terminal!!!( car not husband) Fortunately I have resisted going down to 1 car or we would be stumped!!!!
On sofa with leg elevated at moment, overdone it yesterday so painful today. Only 31/2 weeks before cast is off yippee. Enforced relaxation is not that much fun!!
Good to see Rufus that you aren't taken in by charlatans.
No doubt when you are basking in the sun in a few months time we will be remembering our very hot summer ‘so far’.
Have you thought about organising a virtual birthday party with us all in two weeks time. I would be happy to do the DJing at the disco. ??
Good Evening Mick and Everyone.
Awoke 6.30, for the usual reason, early, but not so bright. Blame it on last night's soccer. Has been 3C-13C again as forecast.
Don't worry about us hiding from the sun, Panache. More a case of it hiding from us!
A day with a difference; a telephone call purportedly from the income tax "department" to say a warrant was about to be issued for my arrest and to call a certain telephone number to discuss and "don't ignore"!
There are always clues as to the veracity of these calls; (a) Tax offices never operate like this, (b) it's tax "office", not "department".
Oh, I wasn't born yesterday, (91 in a fortnight!), but I can imagine how upset some people could be.
Afraid I'll have to forgo the Socceroos v Peru live at midnight and watch the ad-free replay in the morning. A match too far!
Have a good sun-baking Tuesday.
Good Health
BTW Nfk, Didn't realise you are a George Formby fan.! Were you singing his theme song whilst you cleaned your windows.?
Take care if you use ladders!
Cheers
Just back from some local shopping and the library and yes, GreyD - I am glowing!
Good morning all. It's very warm and sunny in Nottingham. I've been up for hours, been chatting to my friend on the 'phone, who has been to Turkey where it was 40 degrees, she said.
Work later, then Zumba tonight.
Good morning from the Tyne Valley.
Lovely day here again. Had GS1 for most of yesterday, he's a none stop talker, Granny this, Granny that!!
Today I'm getting on with arrangements for going away at the weekend, washing and ironing etc., in readiness for going to the Hampton Court flower show.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Good morning, everyone.
Bright, wall to wall ? here today. It’s going to be another hot day.
Glad to hear Bertie is getting better, Kitty and I hope he and Persie enjoy sports day (and you, too).
Yiayia, glad to hear your DS’s op went ok and that he is now home.
Welcome, jacq10.
Hay fever is not pleasant, my gt nephew suffers badly at this time of year, plus he’s got a lot of exams to do this week, too. So to you HF sufferers, commiserations. I had what I thought was HF earlier in the year when it was tree pollen in the atmosphere, but it was nothing compared to gt nephews HF.
Very wise, mick with the water. Don’t forget the sun cream, too.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable day.?
Morning Annie
Good morning all x
Good morning from N. Bucks.
‘ It’s gonna be a bright bright bright sun shiny day ‘.
Visiting my brother and SIL today, about an hours drive. Probably a lazy day, sitting in the garden and chatting.
Well, it seems we’re far enough inland for the sea mist to burn off! The sun is shining!
And Rufus, when you join us, I cleaned the windows yesterday and can now see all the bits I missed!
Pitt, horses sweat, gentlemen perspire, but ladies only glow!!
`Morning all and yes the sunshine repeats itself.
Whilst I have always been a sun worshipper and lived for the summers, hotter the better, sadly these days I am happily ducking for cover!
Don`t feel at all well this morning so can but hope its just a touch of the morning blues, whilst I have every sympathy for all you Hay fever asuffers and such,I don`t think I fall into this same league.
Good news Yiayia, hope your Bertie has fully recovered too Kitty........and thanks for the early smiles Marydoll........although its more of a grimace this morning!!!
Wishing you all a day of comfort whether in the sun or hiding from it!!!
A rather late good morning from me .
Have a good Tuesday everyone x
Good morning, it is foggy here in the NE. Fairly typical, you get one or two sunny days then the sea mist rolls in.
GD1 had her sports day on Friday and she did quite well with the javelin
I asked GD2 what she would be participati g in and she said " everything" that's my girl.
