I fear he’s fallen asleep under the table! We may have to party on for an hour or two. Maybe the combined GN choir singing of Happy Birthday will have to wait!

Well I believe it is Rufus2 91st on the 8th. We are holding an impromptu virtual party for him. All you need to do is say what you are bringing or doing and what you will wear.
Rufus has promised to be on his best behaviour ?
I will be DJing and wearing a rather fetching sparkly purple jump suit. And before you ask Rufus you can't come in your Birthday suit, this is a respectable party.
Over to you.

Tasty cake Jalima! Oh Eglantine - so cute! Come on girls, let’s go party ?
I’m still struggling with the anagram, further clue required please. Others can join in too.
?? we're dancing on the ceiling.......
Oops, have I got a bottle or two ahead of you all
hic !
You don't think Rufus is drunk under the table with one of the young waitresses do you ? Where is he?
NanKate; G'Day! You told me to look at the Good Morning Sunday thread and that's where I've been.
You were promoting your opinion that I haven't "lost my marbles" Remember? Or have you lost some of yours already?
You also said you'd be my DJ, so I gave you my playlist, but I haven't yet seen it being handed round or even heard it! What channel are you on? What's going on?
Even if you can stoop, you won't find me under that table; any self-respecting waitress would have to be drunk herself before she'd get under a table with this old bloke.
Switching between all these threads is proving to be a challenge to my remaining marbles, but over there (the Sunday thread) I expressed my heartfelt thanks for setting up this virtual party. It's fantastic and almost real; don't tell anyone, but I found myself reviewing my real wardrobe for something smart.
Unfortunately nothing! It's all out of fashion and I stopped looking for new stuff a couple of years ago as being a poor investment
Not exactly a shining example of the power of positive thinking!
And I was posting very early if you must know; a lady in Scotland wide awake at 4.30a.m. where it's always daylight at this time of year I believe.
Now! I must away and help Oops who also seems to have lost some marbles and control of her keyboard!
She was supposed to be Quality Control Manager (drinks), but seems to have got carried away with the high quality of my presents and now carried away herself! I'm not sure too sure where to look, but her "singing" might help track her down.
Meanwhile the bar is still open, even if it's a bit early for a Sunday, but that doesn't happen too often to make it a habit.
Enjoy
Yodel oh delaaaay heeeede heeeeee
Here I am rufus have some plonk, and a chunk of birthday cake.
I’ve been saving my voice for the sing song
I do believe we have Vera Lynns greatest hits on the playlist.
Yeh strut your funky stuff surenuff........hic, burp oops
If anyone finds a glass slipper size 11, it’s mine, wearing them too big as per the Royals, too let my liddle old tootsies breathe.
Anyway I need that shoe.
Anyone?
Have I missed the international online hokey cokey?
I think Rufus started the hokey jokey earlier, but tried to put both legs in at the same time.....
Anyway, he’ll be fine, trust me , I once wanted to be a nurse.
Now looking for 2 glass slippers , anyone?

A Good Man is Hard to Find (Bessie Smith) - I thought we had one right here, but he's under the table with the waitress
Sing up everyone!!

Give them back
Oh now....I wish you Happy Birthday Rufus ? almost missed the party ? invitation and everything.

Btw; the cakes look delish. Thank You All. I'll try some soon.
Goodness me! It's 9.40 and my 91st. will be drawing to a close, but don't you worry; I'll switch to UK mode and get another 9 hours!
I'm not apologising for these long postings; as they say, rooster today, feather-duster tomorrow
Cheers

I see that your latest post is a repeat of an earlier one Rufus , too tired from all the dancing to compose a new one?
Can I have my glass slippers back? Or are you still wearing them?
Kate owing to you being the hostess with the mostest and chief organiser, disc jockey extraordinaire etc...........I have decided to exchange my purple jump suit for a buttercup yellow silk tunic over silver leggings, so as not to clash with your good self..............I hope this meets with your approval!!!
Rufus - can I give you a really big birthday ((((((((hug))))))) and a sloppy kiss?as I must away. I have a friends anniversarium bbbbq to go to to. If I can member where tis. I think I may’ve eaten too much cake, I feel a touch qeeezy.? xxx
Ohdumpling take a bottle of Bolly with you, I have saved some under my voluminous frock.
And some cake, but it’s a bit squished....
* Rufus* has my shoes!
Oops where are you? I've been looking everywhere for you since you deserted your post as Quality Manager (drinks). And I haven't got your high heels; you must have kicked them off under the table. Who were you with there anyway?
If you do find them, don't ask me to drink champagne out of one with you, if you've left any, that is!
I imagine a size 12 holds more than a schooner, which would floor me; but I'll keep searching
for you, "through the smoke and flame" and all that.
I like that one. NanKate can add it to my playlist.
Keep tight, Hold tight
Careful now!
Cheers

Rufus - can I give you a really big birthday ((((((((hug))))))) and a sloppy kiss
Nfk; of course you can, any time and you don't have to wait for birthdays, but please wipe away any surplus pavlova, if that's what you meant by "sloppy.
You seem sweet enough without that!
But take care if you're driving
Cheers
but I found myself reviewing my real wardrobe for something smart
How about a Maurice Chevalier style boater Rufus - and a quick tap dance like Sammy Davis Jr before you stagger off retire to bed?

Oops; Are you saying I've lost some marbles?
Where and when did this terrible infringement of Posting protocol take place" Or is it a "virtual" error
Pleased to know that you're reading my posts, even twice.
In mitigation; I can't claim "of unsound mind", not yet anyway but I can call NanKate as my star witness
I'm having to attend to more than one thread, which is very good to know, but can get so confusing, to me anyway, It's reassuring to know that someone is watching over me! [awe]
And did I say just now that you're lost shoes were size 12? Sorry about that! Of course, they're only size 11.
Watch your step as you wobble along
cheers

Hi Rufus apologies for being away for a short while but I went outside for a breather and the bouncers wouldn't let me back in. ???
Unfortunately I broke some if the vynl records whilst teetering around on my stilettos, but I do have the Django Rheinhart (maybe wrong spelling) one you wanted.
I must admit I am particularly pleased with the turnout today, even though alcohol seems to have overtaken quite a few of us. ?
Well no doubt it will be your bedtime soon Rufus so I am sending round a couple of nurses to tuck you up in bed. ?
The rest of us will party on till the early hours. What a fun 91 birthday party.
How about a Maurice Chevalier style boater Rufus
Jalima; thanks for your confidence in my sartorial presentation, but I was going to leave that showing-off stuff to other Grandads. But none seem to be around!
Where else is there to go on a Sunday, other than Church or the pub (that would be very disrespectful) and anyway the pubs in Wales shut on a Sunday don't they?
Perhaps they're not allowed out if they haven't got a "Sunday Best"
Keep those dainty feet tapping.
Ooroo

alcohol seems to have overtaken quite a few of us. ?
NanKate; I blame Oops! She was supposed to be in control of the drinks bar, but it seems like it was open slather over there!
Anyway, you can always send out for more provisions, unless off-licences shut on Sundays.
Notwithstanding that and assuming none of the drinks were "spiked",
would you agree that all the guests were well-behaved? No need for the bouncers?
Seriously! I've expressed my gratitude on another thread for organising this "virtual" party.
It is appreciated very much and I would like to thank all the "guests" for participating with so much fun and to make it seem almost real. In fact there were moments when I actually thought it was!
Perhaps in the (very) cold light later to-day, yes it's Monday already, 1.00am, I'll think of a way to issue "Thank You Cards" to everyone.
Before I retire there's one question that's been on my
mind! Is this virtual party theme new or has it been in practice for some time e.g. for other classes of anniversaries? I would think the latter as it's been so well organised. My family here thought the idea marvellous, although serious No. 2 son x-examined me a bit, but I've straightened him out.
Now I must get some badly needed beauty sleep, but before I do, there's one slightly cheeky reply I 'd like to make.
Keep the party going for me!
Take care.
