The Thai boys As the other thread is entitled Good news and as a man has just died in the rescue I thought it needed updating It s so very sad to think this man has lost his life whilst trying to save these lads He was swimming to take them oxygen but didn’t leave himself enough for getting back he was 38 years old I didn’t realise it’s a 5 hour swim to get to the boys ledge and then a six hour swim ( against the flow) going back The monsoons are expected on Sunday it’s horrendous
All out now. Doctor and 3 rescuers last to leave. Shame the boys won't be able to get to the world cup but they are apparently going to go to Man. United instead when they are well enough.
BlueBelle I was thinking that. One of them has an MBE which is not a particularly high reward given the number of rescues he had already been involved in. Someone who runs in circles fast becomes a sir and someone who saves lives either gets no recognition or a lower medal. There were apparently 7 British drivers there and they should all receive something. There should be far fewer awards but those that are given should be more than someone just been good and successful at their job. These men aren't even doing this for a living.
Just heard an interview of a father of one of the British divers who was in the cave until the last and now the doctor and all divers are out I had presumed they had chosen the divers for their experience and prowess but no, it was as simple as measuring their shoulder width Absolutely amazing
Oh thank goodness what a relief I ve been out this morning and the first thing I did was come on here to get the latest I m so relieved what a mammoth and wonderful rescue Now I can have a quiet few tears of joy and thankfulness xxx
Great news! BBC reports that all the boys including Coach are out!! Four divers (one of them a doctor) remained with them through the night and are still in the cave. They are expected to come out next. So relieved and happy for everyone involved..... absolute heroes!
Just in case they successfully get them all out- I still hardly dare think it for fear of tempting fate - GN could do providing us with an almighty 'cheer' emoji. Plus a special emoji of some sort in memory if the diver who so tragically lost his life.
Brilliant news. Apparently the second rescue was 2 hours quicker than the first and they believe that this one will be quicker again. The first boys taken to hospital are said to be doing well and walking around the ward.
Eleven out now and first two that were out two days ago are eating and walking about All boys came out wearing sunglasses (as they had been in the dark so long) and on stretches as very weak The latest news says the coach actually followed the boys into the cave as they ran in ahead of him !
Yes Jaycee another four out today just five left now oh so pleased hopefully the others will be brought out tomorrow What a relief when they ar3 all out
