Hello the kitchen. I am sitting here waiting for my grandson to arrive for his last full day with us before term starts. I think it will be an indoor day today, as the weather is set to take a turn for the worst. DH has booked him an hour’s tuition at a nearby golf course this afternoon, but in the meantime, I think we will make some biscuits and do a bit of painting - if I can prize him away from his phone!
I agree with you, Gq, about the way in which you form a bond with people you’ve never met - some you will never meet. It is a concept that is totally alien to my DH. He struggles to get his head round it and worries when I go off to a meetup. “They might be axe murderers for all you know!” he said of the first one I went to. “Yes,” said I “but they will probably be perfectly charming and amusing axe murderers!”?.
We are off down to Wales tommorrow to stay with DH’s sister for a couple of days. She has just been diagnosed with dementia and we want to see how she is coping, as, in her current confused and delusional state, she refuses to let her other sister, who is very anxious about her, anywhere near her. She lives alone, but has good neighbours, fortunately. Not an ideal situation, though and very sad. I will have plenty of data on my phone (no wi-if!) to keep an eye on what’s going down in the kitchen, hopefully. Not looking forward to the drive down there.
I will look in later to see if there is any news of Panache.
