Should that be bottoms up maw? ?
Did CA quietly quit funding by “butts in seats”?
Cookery books and other books - are you keeping them ?
Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good friends and jolly good company.
Welcome.

Should that be bottoms up maw? ?
About 3weeks ago I was urged by a visiting nurse to try them
She has just rung to say she has applied "for continence care
but before we can be assessed we need to send a urine sample in
This was my experience, so I didn’t bother to pursue it. I got a better variety of pull up with an adjustable waistband online instead. Can’t remember what they cost, but it was the least of my worries at the time.
Chins up! !
Hope you get some rest tomorrow ann
max is a smasher callgirl
chaos it may not be your bithday but can we have some non birthday cake please
panache I have fingers and toes crossed for you. Hope a buyer comes soon.
Greyduster I take all remarks as very appropriate, as your was.
I have never been a delicate flower.
I am shattered tonight, it has been a really full day, practically and stress and frustrationwise.
My H is really ready for bed as am I.
Tomorrow he goes to day care from 9:30am until 5pm, a welcome break for me.
Oh those lovely babies! Our DGS is now 3 and while he is delightful and so entertaining, I’d love some baby cuddles. My sister is nanna to 3 lovely children and we have just had news that another is on its way. So lovely.
panache fingers will be crossed so tightly for you they may go numb!
ann your patience and good humour with all the awful things life is throwing at you and your DH is amazing.
Good wishes to everyone else (too many to mention!), but of course, we do have to mention the wonderful soop who is amazing inalways answering everybody’s comments - how do you do it?
So glad I found the kitchen
.
and
to all, not forgetting
The hat found its way home, yes, kitty and was needed - i did get into the garden and it was hot. But it had the desired effect and restored my equilibrium a bit. I hope your new grandbaby is given a classical name of equal weight to Persie’s. Hers is lovely. I had a friend who had twins called Darius and Hector. Their father liked Greek history! Enjoy your nice dinner!
Ann I apologise for my response to your post - it was flippant. I have been a bit like that all day. No excuses.
Callgirl what a handsome young man Max is becoming - his hair is just gorgeous! Hope it is always that colour and doesn’t darken as he gets older like my son’s did. He went from ash blonde to dark brown over the years (now peppered with grey!)
N&G when your log cabin is erected I have visions of you outside in a rocking chair wearing a coonskin cap and smoking on a corn cob pipe, with a shotgun across your knee ready to defend it against all comers (aka Grampy and the little boys)! Oh and don’t forget the moonshine! ?. Seriously though, what a lovely thing to look forward to, having a space of your own to work in!
A man has just walked into our conservatory brandishing a bar of Toblerone, and walked out again! If he thinks he is going to keep that to himself he can think again! I am off to claim my share. Have a lovely evening, one and all.
Crikey Panache shall we all bite our nails - will it help? Or we could pray for rain so no-one wants to use your road - or both!!
I'm loving the gorgeous baby photos and will be joining in before too long. Just don't ask what this boy is called. Just remember that his Mum christened her daughter Persephone!! Which actually suits her to a T.
I hope there wont be any Trumps in your West Wing NandG. You may use that pathetic joke to amuse any small boys that might appreciate it!
Did the hat manage to find it's way home, GD? Hopefully too late to be worthwhile venturing out in the garden.
Ann I think when Mum was, eventually, declared doubly incontinent we got the princely sum of £8 pw so don't expect the savings to pay for your holiday!!
I did my Alzheimer's course stint yesterday and, as always, I was in awe of the strong women (and 2 men) caring for their husbands. I was particularly sad though for the woman who told me that she wished she'd left her husband 40 years ago and for the woman, married only 6 years ago, whose husband doesn't know who she is.
We have had a couple of trying days one way and another (indirectly related to the Idiot, naturally!) so I am going to attempt to make a very nice dinner, have a nice cold white
and watch some really rubbish TV.
callgirl1 Wow! Max is a little champ. Such a lovely wee face. I could cuddle him right now.
Dear ChaosInc Buggerations galore. That parcel was posted first class from the main post office on Friday. If it's not with you tomorrow...someone is in for a right telling off. Bless you, you've been so patient.
An entire afternoon has been spent ruining a portrait of a beautiful dog. I messed up big time. Guess what, I shall start afresh in the morning. I am NOT a clever clogs. I just think that I am.
I will endeavour to spend more quality time with you lot tomorrow. What I would so enjoy right this minute is...chocolate cake...the real thing with bells on.
Bye for now. Take good care of yourselves one and all.

callgirl what a handsome young man, taking everything in.
Panache in the nicest possible way may I wish heavy rain if anybody wants a second viewing? That will hopefully keep the road quieter and clear of traffic.
What a bobby dazzler is young Max........and you have every reason to be proud as punch Callgirl
I am still spitting feathers hearing about the grave injustices in our Country when it comes to caring for our needy,I would laugh at how farcical your story Ann ......except really it is beyond a joke.
My resting has been brought to an abrupt halt and knowing how you have all sympathised with me and others in the midst of selling properties, I thought the least I can do is share our `phone call from our estate Agent........re our last viewer.
It seems out of the 9 viewed, most discarded and there maybe three on his short list for a return visit........and ours definately tops the list!
He really does find this ideal.......
One thing holding him back from making that offer..............the darned road.............grrrrrrrrrr! He returns next week with a brother.Certainly more nail biting and sleepless night.........
Till tomorrow my lovely Kitchen chums...........have a restful evening.
Happy pictures when they arrive Chaos, you`re certain to love them, I do all mine.
May I crave thev indulgence of you all? Here are my latest photos of Max, now 4 months old.
Afternoon all !!
I like the way you think nannyJan !!
Who knows how it all works ann - I'm not sure even the powers that be do. It seems like a total lottery.
Happy Non birthday Chaos as you were so kind as to leave virtual cake !! I have been a lucky recipient of a painting of Sam from the lovely Soop so I know you're will be a lovely keepsake.
Grey - you- throw a tantrum ???? Surely not !!!
Your trip sounds wonderful Gaga . I have a fondness for the IOW being a Pompey girl born and bred. It always seems slightly lost in time when I visit.
I am VERY excited and hope you will all join me for a glass of virtual bubbly ….. today we ordered by new craft room. In honour of our house ( The White House) it will be called the West Wing :-) - very appropriate as our village has great links with the USA and Lincoln.
I have to wait 12 weeks for it . The lady said it was coming from somewhere in eastern Europe !! But it is a lovely log cabin, fully double glazed and suitable for all year round use.
I cannot wait to get all my crafting stuff outside and the little ones can have their bedroom back.
On that note, I am off to speak to the tree surgeon who has arrived . We have a couple of small confers in the way , but I want his advice on planting a replacement !
Happy day all xx
Ann I found that when I worked in customer care. Those who demanded loudest and persistently always got their way, with our Manager.
And cake taken from another persons plate has no calories either
So many posts since I last came in it is hard to keep up! I can imagine if everyone in here met in a real kitchen the volume of chat would be very loud!
Just had a Dentist appointment today, and have to go back for a small filling! Then out to lunch to a lovely little café called Latuskes , that does meat, vegetarian and vegan food. The Falafel is gorgeous!
Hugs and
to all experiencing problems and worries.
A very Happy non Birthday then??
I had forgotten your gift from "soop you are sure to love it.
We got asked a lot of "wee" related questions from the nurse who called for the sample.
It is not a given that we will get the pads.
How is it that some demand and get everything?
Thank you for the birthday wishes....which I shall carefully tie with ribbon and keep safe until the actual event, next year.
I don't think my postie has nice legs. Next time I see her, I shall ask
I am anxiously awaiting the post because.... *soops" artwork is winging its way to me!!
No postman at all today (I think we may be down to deliveries only on alternate days) so back to chewing nails, in excitement, until tomorrow.
ann .... I wonder if they insist on checking for an infection, which may be treatable, before agreeing to supply for a condition which is not.
Why don't they just accept the word of the professionals already caring.
Total lack of joined up thinking/care!
You do have my sympathies; it must be so very frustrating.
Have a nice evening, everyone. I am leaving a rather rich chocolate cake on the counter in celebration of my non-birthday. As it is a non cake, it obviously has no calories
ann my SIL spent a fortune on pants for my DB. Like your DH he became incontinent in hospital. He didn't like the pads, just kept whipping them out at inappropriate moments
. The pants were more comfortable I think.
panache I do hope you get some luck with your house sale soon. Even when in the best of health it is a most stressful thing. Keeping the house straight and getting your hopes up for each visit is so wearing.
chaos happy birthday if today's the day. If not, bring us cake anyway ??
Lovely photo of your outfit topsy. Glad the day went well.
Sorry you have some family worries. Hope the young man listens to sense soon.
I do so want to cuddle Teddy soop, he is gorgeous.
As for the lovely hattie, maw your sofa looks so comfy. Any chance hatty would budge up a bit and let me join her for a snooze?
So many posts since I was last in the kitchen. What a busy place it is. Thank goodness there is always a comfortable chair, a quiet corner and good kind company.
Welcome to all the new kitcheners.
A kind (hug) to all those with worries and a hope that things will improve.
Ann I don't know whether to laugh or cry...on your behalf, I shall do a mixture of the two.
Greyduster When as a child I through the odd tantrum wobbly, my Nana used to say..."keep your hat on..." I still think along those lines when miffed. Wonder where the saying started and why.
Welcome Framilode , your optimism will rub off on a number of stressed-out Kitcheners. Don't go too far. They need all the support they can get.
Perhaps they only issue them for patients with Premier Cru pee?
Now here's a new one.
My H has been incontinent since his two week stay in hospital in February. I buy pull-ups at a cost of approx £10 A week.
I have been told frequently I can get pads, not pull ups free.
About 3weeks ago I was urged by a visiting nurse to try them.
She has just rung to say she has applied "for continence care"
but before we can be assessed we need to send a urine sample in!!
Why I wonder.
Hello the kitchen. I am supposed to be doing some gardening but DH has gone off in the car, wherein is my hat, and I as it is hot here, I am not going out without it. I have spare hats, but it has to be THE hat (that’s my excuse and I am sticking to it
!). Anyway, it has to be a day of distractions today, so having wiped down the kitchen cabinets and the tiles, I am now distracted by Gransnet until the hat returns.
The most worrying thing about the low water levels in the river, Panache, is that the fish in there are precious brown trout, and they are coming up to their spawning season shortly. With the water levels being so low, they could struggle to find places to lay their eggs. The lower the water gets, the less oxygen there is for them also. As for the other worrying problem, I just have to try and get things into perspective. As my mother used to say, “never trouble trouble ‘till trouble troubles you!” or some such rubbish!
Right, I had better look lively - I think my hat has come back!
Making an early visit whilst I have a modicum of “oomph”
What a treat your West Cowes trip Gagagran... by all means you were treated to a full on break, the kind of one that really uplifts the soul.I think I may have simply lounged in that massive bed!
Worrying situation there where your rivers are virtually water free GreyD,rain desperately needed ........and hopefully that worrying problem can be solved too, plus your car situation thus easing your troubled mind.
Those children just did not respect their elders it seems Corner.....but I bet you still enjoyed tour ride “Up on high!!”
Your getting there Nonna and I could not be more pleased, our turn next!
Thanks for that very uplifting and welcomed bit of advice Framilode......I am glad someone has faith !!!
Interesting though Chaos obviously our paths have similarly crossed at some point.........and if THIS is your birthday......Many happy returns.
Gee thanks each and everyone for your understanding,I am forced to listen to my body, and I shall enjoy the view from the kitchen window Callgirl whilst oh! yes I am fully appreciative of our valued........but over stretched hostess!!
Have a pleasant day without many obstacles halting your way my friends.
PS Ann.......so nice to see you again,I have missed you.
Panache - I think you are doing very well for viewings as August is usually such a dead month for selling. I am sure you will sell in September when the market comes to life again. This is from an ex estate agent (yea - I know, one of those) of 30 years. Your house sounds lovely. It will happen. NIL DESPERANDUM.
I’m getting ‘ do your own visa kit for permanent UK residence ‘ at the top of the page!
Me too, or should that be three,
