We had a lovely day at the Tower of London, very busy. We didn't get to see the Crown Jewels , the queue was very long. Two DGD'S asked lots of questions but were very well behaved. I think we will all sleep very well tonight.

Doodle Mon 13-Aug-18 20:36:51

Haven't been in the kitchen for a few days ( been struggling to get the scalextric back in it's box and de-fluffed!).
Well ann I am so excited for you. So glad you are going to have a little holiday. I think you have a lovely relationship with your granddaughter. She sounds very special.
Hello Framilode nice to meet you. You too nannyjan. No lurking come right on in.?
sar I'm a bit worried about you. You say you are accident prone and off to the Tower of London. Don't lose your head will you ?
soop what beautiful hair you have. So wavy, it looks lovely.
Hello ? to everyone. Have a good day (actually it's a bit late so have a good night. Sleep tight as my mum used to say ?)

Panache Mon 13-Aug-18 18:48:56

So my morning post has got there before us .............well I suppose that`s as good an answer as any for these missing scripts!

Now that is what I call sensible Topsy..........perhaps it is the one worn last at that wedding!!!

Charleygirl Mon 13-Aug-18 18:47:20

I switched on the washing machine late afternoon and then promptly fell asleep. My washing is now hanging indoors. Rip van Winkle is alive and well.

Nannytopsy Mon 13-Aug-18 18:11:36

That’s a pain Callgirl! The missing posts have eloped to Ibiza of course!!
That hat is hired!

callgirl1 Mon 13-Aug-18 17:24:36

Clicked by accident, was going to add, hung the washing out in blazing sunshine, then it rained so hard no way was I going out to fetch it in, it`s now dripping on the line, wetter than when it left the machine!

callgirl1 Mon 13-Aug-18 17:22:18

Love the hair Soop, wish mine would drape itself so gracefully!

annodomini Mon 13-Aug-18 16:42:40

That's funny - I don't know where
Granny duties - nil
Household tasks - few
came from. It's part of a post I thought I'd deleted!

annodomini Mon 13-Aug-18 16:40:12

Granny duties - nil
Household tasks - few

Well, I'm not busy with granny duties, though I will be nominally in charge of 10 and 13 - year olds next week. In reality, they will probably be glued to X-boxes and other gadgets, emerging occasionally to raid the fridge. I hope they will be under orders to 'look after granny'!
We have run out of family weddings as all the next generation are settled and the GC are growing up fast. I have a large purple hat, if anyone's interested!
So - as I never got round to replacing the ex-husband, I don't have that responsibility!
Maybe I will survive to welcome some GGC.

Panache Mon 13-Aug-18 16:39:05

I am with you there Soop I once was the instigator of anything going.....these days I am sadly not to be seen!

My dear man went to the tip this afternoon again!! and I took my chance and shot outside, secateurs grabbed tight in my little mitt, ready to trim some cotoneaster going walkies everywhere...........just as well he was back soon for he found me not only soaking in perspiration but almost fading away.......................so before he could lecture me, he had a spot of nursing me back to this land.
Now having also been lectured I have recovered plus I am a very morose (and miserable) so and so.

But believe me I will NOT trail behind on our Ibiza trip...........I shall be there somewhere near the front in my giddy gear!!..........not outdoing your disco outfit and spikey heeled shoes of course Soop...............I DO remember those days you know!!!!

soop Mon 13-Aug-18 16:09:56

Greyduster Us lot will take good care of you when we all join Ann at the airport. No worries...you can sleep and we'll tell you what happens when we hit the clubs wearing our disco outfits and spikey heeled shoes. Somehow, I feel that I am not being totally truthful. Those days are long gone. The quiet life suits me fine. wink

soop Mon 13-Aug-18 16:05:09

Aww...^you lot^ are good for a girl.

GrannyGravy13 hmm that's a tall order. It should be written into your contract somewhere in the small print!

kitty I so wished that I had been sensible and not purchased but hired the wedding hats that are packed away in the loft.

It's good to have you here in the new kitchen, corner. Please keep visiting. There will be some lemon cake left over at some point. I distinctly remember a post promising us enough for all our Granspals. There won't be any need for fisty-cuffs. In fact, I am certain that us lot have never needed to be pushy about anything. Correct me if I'm wrong.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 13-Aug-18 14:53:22

Good Afternoon all x

We all seem to be constantly busy with Granny duties, weddings as well as household chores and Husbands. When do you all think it will be our time to,relax and do what we please (in my case nothing at all, preferably in my house alone)

kittylester Mon 13-Aug-18 14:30:17

And, no doubt, relishing having the house to yourself, GD. I love MrLester to pieces but I also relish having absolutely no one else in the house for a while. I know I would feel like you Maw in the same circumstances. flowers

Sorry about your viewers panache - there will be someone out there for you.

I have real hair envy soop. How lovely to have such lustrous locks.

Hope you still love the Hat, topsy. I had a real crisis of confidence about a week before one of ours got married and had to go and hire one. shock

cornergran Mon 13-Aug-18 14:22:50

Afternoon everyone and a big hello and welcome to those I haven’t met.

No, greyd you aren’t decrepit, just a normal Gran. Or if you really are decrepit then move over so I can join you. smile. We’re also on grandparent detail. Out all morning, bus - needed sharp elbows to secure that all important upstairs front seat with control of the bell when it was time to get off grin. Sea front walk then the land train before the bus back. You’d think there would have been enough sitting down, sadly not.

Anyone else not sleep properly when any of them are visiting without parents? Daft this time as the child in question is more than capable of looking after themselves. No logic.

Five more minutes then off out again, car this time, phew. Tomorrow will be an early start, have promised breakfast out, wish me luck.

Suspect I’ll not be about much this week so while I remember have a wonderful weekend gaga, you’re off to a beautiful island.

Stay in one piece everyone.

Greyduster Mon 13-Aug-18 13:51:18

Well, it’s official, I am finally decrepit. We took GS for eighteen holes of pitch and putt this morning and even though I didn’t play (I just caddied and supervised his shots!), I was on my knees by lunchtime. I fed him the aforementioned walrus pie for his lunch and then sent him and DH off to the swimming pool for the first time without me ☹️ - I just couldn’t face it. I need to up my game before he comes over again on Thursday. I therefore reluctantly decline to join the riot of grans going to Ibiza - I would probably just spend the whole time asleep in a corner! Which is what I am going to do now!

ChaosIncorporated Mon 13-Aug-18 13:27:53

soop'er photo!

Nannylovesshopping Mon 13-Aug-18 12:35:28

Oh soop what absolutely gorgeous hair you have, I am so envious, it really suits you up or down?

Panache Mon 13-Aug-18 12:23:04

And one very elegant lady emerges Soop..............I like the idea of our posts eloping ........the question being of course...........to where????
Now were a camera pointed in my direction early morning, I fear I would scare the living daylights out of the kitchen grans!!!!

How remiss of me to say I wish you a super trip Gaga I am sure you are very deserved and will have a lovely relaxed break.

Sun is breaking through ensuring a nice day for garden pottering .....I hope I shall at least be allowed to point fingers.Oh! for the day when I was up to my knees in mud, glorious mud!

Another no from our "oldies" viewers and this time saying thelady did not like our driveway is a load of you know what...........actually her hubby was the most erratic driver and thereby goes the reason she thought this.............however a No is a no.........sad............. sad

soop Mon 13-Aug-18 11:35:49

Ann I had no idea that you were recruiting a riot of grannies to join you on your hols. The list looks awfully long. I've added my name, hope you don't mind.

N&G Did you save a sticky bun for me? If not, why not? wink

Gaga I sense your excitement. A large part of the buzz that I enjoy is, the planning what to wear blah blah!

Panache perhaps our lost postings have eloped! One never know...grin

You lot know that you are special peoples. I've told you often enough. I have stuff to do and must away for a wee while. A friend from Hampshire is to call in for tea and cupcake (bought) later today. Hence, I have to dash aboot the hoos with a brush/mop/feather duster and whatever else comes to hand. back a little later.

By the by...MacSporran took the photo this morning - before I pile my hair on top.

soop Mon 13-Aug-18 11:20:32

First things first - Where oh where did my final post of yesterday buzz orf to? It beggars belief hmm that all my chunterings evaporated into the ether. Soop is a grumpy bunny right now.

annsixty Mon 13-Aug-18 11:17:53

What a lovely prize * Gagagran* enjoy every minute.

How exciting Nannytopsy it is 25 years since we an A.C. wedding.
Don't know if I will be around for GC to tie the knot.

It is dull and damp, the washing is still in the machine.

Eilyann70 Mon 13-Aug-18 11:14:26

Welcome to the newcomers! This lot are a very busy lot!

Nannytopsy Mon 13-Aug-18 11:03:01

And Meghan Markle copied us, please note!

Nannytopsy Mon 13-Aug-18 11:02:10

Morning everyone! Just off to pick up the Hat (deliberate capitalisation there!) and DH’s suit in preparation for the big day on Saturday. Wednesday is wedding cake day so stand by for acres of reject lemon drizzle cake grin!
