Goodness, kitty, another worry for you. I’m not sure how unwell your friend is but the future without her husband must be a scary one.

Keep resting soop, hope that cough lets go of you soon, you must be exhausted.

Also sending good wishes to synonmous and Mr S, you must both be worried.

I’m another occasional lurker who’s about to post for the second time in a week. Just have to add my support and sympathy for Morethan. Bloody awful news. And Kitty too. Is it the time of year? So much bad news lately.

What sad news for your whole family. You must all be in shock. We are here if you need to offload but I wish there was something practical we could do. Keep strong!

Just back from lunch with DD1 and DD3 which was lovely. We missed DD2 who lives slightly too far away. We didn't miss their brothers - a girly lunch is great. But I came home to the news that a friend's husband has died of prostate cancer. My friend has Alzheimer's and I am wondering what will happen to her now.

Not the bearer of good news I’m afraid, my poor DiL cancer has spread to her brain. Starting radiation in the next few weeks, how much more can she take. My poor son is trying to stop crying because the three youngest are coming home from school. How awful is this

An infusion of fresh ginger is my go to, Soop - it supposedly has antibacterial properties - with honey and lemon added (whisky too if you like!). Drink it hot and often (perhaps not too often if there is whisky in it!! Oh, I don’t know though?). I sincerely hope that you shake it off soon.??

So sorry your still having such a rotten time Soop. DH (who never used to get colds) has has a really bad one for nearly two weeks - awful cough being the worst of it now. He has various other health problems so something like this is always a worry. We’re busy doing nothing on holiday but he’s not improving that much. I do feel for you too Synonymous trying to find the right oils for DH - mine has problems with his feet and keeps trying new things instead of giving the old things a chance to work!! He won’t listen. He has peripheral neuropathy so I am busy knitting him all wool socks to wear in bed as he feels the cold so badly at night ...

soop it sounds to me as though a GP visit is on the cards- such a pity it is a weekend. MacS will make sure you stay in bed- I only hope that he does not catch the buggeration that you have acquired.

So sorry that you had such a rotten night soop and you feel so poorly. Rest is essential and a regular hot toddy. Himself makes an amazing one which is legendary in our family. It has a huge %age of 'the water of life' so although it may not cure it you sleep lots and seem to recover quicker.

Interesting that you can/could get honey impregnated gauze harrigran I wonder if you can get that OTC or do you just put honey on some sterile gauze? My mind was running on ulcers as our gardener friend has had a recurrence of one which he last had 7 years ago and he has been in real misery with it so that could be helpful for him- certaimly don't want that for Himself.
Having read up about cellulitis I have started a different mixture for the mornings using lavender, frankincense, tea tree and oregano in the base cream and hopefully that will keep everything at bay. No wonder Himself was on such hefty doses of antibiotics when the metalwork in his leg was infected, doesn't bear thinking about!
Don't think I want to use the leg of lamb, by the way!

soop, now you're frightening me. Your chest infection sounds horrible. Don't bother about us - we will struggle on without your input if necessary. I hope MacS will glue you to that bed and get in touch with your GP because it doesn't sound as if it's getting any better. and with a shot!

ps DD recommends adding cinnamon to it as well, apparently very good for coughs and colds
