Definitely a step too far, Kate!!

NanKate Thu 23-Aug-18 15:08:44

Do you think Kitty if you sashayed in wearing exotic clothes and jangly bells round your ankles that your DH would continue with the sport or is that a step too far ??

Gagagran Thu 23-Aug-18 10:44:41

How about "Up aloft" kitty?

kittylester Thu 23-Aug-18 10:34:39

I would Kate except it's mostly used by dh for watching sport!!!

Good morning everyone.

Glad to hear all went well yesterday, Marydoll, and I hope you feel better today, too, greyduster.

It sounds as if most of us had rain last evening and through the night. The grass here certainly looks the better for it, though still not completely recovered.
It’s been fairly dry and bright this morning, but seems to be changing now, with a very grey sky. I think it is going to rain again by the look of it.

Enjoy your day out Mick and anyone else going out today. I had a lovely lunch out yesterday, but it’s a day of catch up with household chores today!

Good morning from a grey skied France. Spent yesterday touring WW1 graveyards and my Mum laid poppies on her Uncle's grave on the centenary of his death.

Oooh fish and chips NanKate a lovely treat!

It would have been good to join you, but Bucks is a tad far smile. Do ya still spake the lingo?

Good luck at audiology clinc Auntieflo, I wear hearing aids so I am a frequent visitor myself.

Good Morning Annie flowers

Now must go and start that ironing!

Have a good Thursday everyone.

NanKate Thu 23-Aug-18 09:02:54

Kitty do you fancy going all exotic and calling it you’re boudoir?

Anniebach Thu 23-Aug-18 08:41:18

Good morning all and Auntyflo x

Glad your home Marydoll x

Not going anywhere .

ginny Thu 23-Aug-18 08:33:51

Too soon !
Hairdresser this morning and then preparations for a long weekend caravaning wit the family.

ginny Thu 23-Aug-18 08:32:43

Good morning all.
Dull and damp in N. Bucks again bit hope it will clear a bit later.
Our extention built over 30 years ago is now our dining room but still often referred to as the playroom.

littleflo Thu 23-Aug-18 08:10:17

Good Morning All,
Slightly cloudy here in London. We too have names for our rooms.. When my MiL admired our updated cupboard under the stairs, DH said, “I am glad you like it, you will be living there when you are too old to,live alone” . For the past thirty years it has been known as the Granny Flat.

kittylester Thu 23-Aug-18 08:08:31

I started a thread a while ago asking what we could call our newly refurbished upstairs sitting room. It's still called the playroom! Our youngest is now 31!!

Auntieflo Thu 23-Aug-18 08:07:56

Morning Mick and all and Anniebach. Another grey start here as well, but hoping it will brighten up later, as it has been doing, getting quite hot in the late afternoon. Off to the audiology, sit and wait, clinic this morning, so I had better get a wiggle on. Have a good day one and all.

NanKate Thu 23-Aug-18 08:06:58

Morning Mick and All.

A lovely fine misty rain in South Bucks, so needed.

So pleased for you Mary that all went well and that you are safely back home. I hope things are better for you too Greyduster. It’s a pity NannyJan you don’t live near me because you could have joined us for a delicious fish and chip lunch which I am having with a friend today. I come from the Midlands so we would have lots to talk about.

Panache Thu 23-Aug-18 08:04:06

Good Morning to all you earlybirds.

We are again both well blessed in the verdant greeness all around plus a little too much of the wet stuff, today though starts bright and cheerful............bodes well for the weekend........time will tell.

I can imagine you to be feeling very much "under the weather" Marydoll these draining days take it out of the system, though it looks as the work continues in your abode...........and good luck with that.

The results were out here in wales last week it seems and there were the usual group of smiling faces........and a few glum ones!

A day of rest to look forward to (NOT)........whilst wishing you all a nice and perky one.

oldgoat Thu 23-Aug-18 08:01:45

Morning all.
It's sunny and dry in York now after a night of lovely heavy rain.
Off to see Calendar Girls in Leeds today with my WI. Somebody suggested wearing black dresses and a sunflower but thankfully the idea was dropped.
I know what you mean about re-naming rooms nfk We had an extension built about 25 years ago which is still refered to, by me, as 'the new room' . We are about to have a utility/ kitchen extension built. I'm going to call it 'the back kitchen'.

Have a good day everyone.

gillybob Thu 23-Aug-18 07:48:44

Good morning from the NE coast. It’s not a bad start to the day (was very warm overnight again) but rain forecast for later this afternoon. Never mind I’m off to work again anyway, thank goodness it’s Fiday Eve.

Glad all went well for you MaryDoll smile

Hope you have a good Thursday everyone.

Brunette10 Thu 23-Aug-18 07:43:27

Morning all, dull here in NE Fife but may clear later. Glad to hear you didn't have any adverse reaction yesterday at hospital Marydoll but yes it takes a lot out of you so just go easy today with your DGD. Coffee with my cousin this morning and food shopping in afternoon when hopefully we shall see some sun. Hope everyone has a good day.

Gagagran Thu 23-Aug-18 07:43:02

Morning all!

Just back from our usual weekly supermarket shop - earlier than normal today. It's very overcast and humid here on the south coast.

We await news from our much-loved eldest DGD who will get her GCSE results today. Hope she has done well. It is quite hard for her as she has two very academic parents and despite their reassurances, feels she has to do so to "not let them down".

Glad your treatment went well Marydoll and hope you feel a bit better today Grey.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

NfkDumpling Thu 23-Aug-18 07:29:31

Morning All

The clouds were so heavy this morning we needed the lights on in the ‘garden’ room (I still have problems with garden room - it’s an old conservatory with a solid roof put on). Eventually we’re getting a little light rain but it’s brightening now so travelsafar, you may find it’s dry by the time you get to Hunstanton.

An at home day planned for today to catch up on housework and garden when it dries up this afternoon.

NannyJan53 Thu 23-Aug-18 07:25:31

Good morning everyone

Welcome rain here too overnight in the Black Country, but now the sun is peeping out!

Today I was meeting a friend for lunch, but she has had to cancel, so it looks like a housework and ironing day shock

Pleased you are ok after your hospital visit Marydoll hope you feel fully recovered soon flowers

cornergran Thu 23-Aug-18 07:18:50

Morning Mick, Morning All. Looks like we had overnight rain, dry now in our corner of Somerset. Cleaning and admin catchup today plus some ironing. Hmm, doesn’t sound fun but none of it will take long and it will be good to get it done. Hope Thursday is kind to everyone.

harrigran Thu 23-Aug-18 07:00:05

Good morning, overcast this morning but it is dry.
Dental check-up this morning but will have to come straight home as DS is having parcel delivered.
