I almost watched a film last night but couldn’t persuade myself that I could believe that Tom Cruise was Jack Reacher.

Oh yes I do agree, I was horrified when I heard they'd cast diddy Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. He is nothing like the books description.

I did eventually watch one, it was OK as an action movie showing Tom doing his own stunts. But try and forget the books when you watch it.,

No, you aren’t being unreasonable, it’s ridiculous casting Tom Cruise when Jack Reacher is supposed to be over 6 ft tall and younger!
So I haven’t watched the films, but I have read and enjoyed the books.

I too love the Lee Childs books, I have to agree that Tom Cruise does not live up to the description of Jack Reacher in the books. I still watch the films (although in the second one Tom looked his age and sometimes as if he had just had a shot of botox!).

I'm with you! I've only read one of the books but my impression was that Jack Reacher is a big man and not Tom Cruise!

I really enjoy the books by Lee Childs that feature Jack as the Hero. He is big and his size is part of his persona and much is made of it.
I think he looks like Clint Eastwood or even Lee Childs himself. He certainly isn’t small. Tom Cruise definitely is.
AIBU not to give Tom A chance.
