Be careful using nail varnish remover, I usee it to remove a large sticker from my washer window and it left it all cloudy. DD, a scientist, asked me why I had used that chemical on this type of plastic as I should have known it would have an adverse reaction
Where feasible I ask the till assistant to take the stickers off, as we have no obligation to buy goods with their sales information on. Esp with books. So far that has always worked, but will keep the hairdryer tip in reserve - a good one.
I put this on the handy tips thread re the hairdryer. A few seconds blasting the sticker with a hairdryer and it will come off cleanly, leaving no stickiness. It works a treat.
I have just consulted with dr google/utube and a hair dryer was suggested. 20 seconds of heat on the label, in this case on a book, and the residue wiped straight off. It worked! will check out lakeland though....thanks all.
I get it off most things with a tiny drop of white spirit on a soft cloth. Of course with a book you might be wary of taking the colour off, but you could try some on an old, similarly coloured book first.
We have an old wardrobe with the remnants of a sticker on the side that one of our DC put there around 30 years ago. One that the dentist gave out saying how good their teeth were. Nothing, but nothing, will get it off.
Oh and there was me hoping you would have a solution. Will have to wait and hope someone knows the secret, or it’s just struck me I could google advice....now why didn’t I think of that.
Bought a book for my dd birthday and am left with sticky goo on it after taking price sticker off. have tried witha danp cloth but goo and marks remain, i seem to recall there is a simple way of doing this. can anyone help please.
