I seem to start every post by apologising for not keeping up !! So I'm giving that up :-)

My heart goes out to you Ann and I know everyone here understands the enormity of the challenge of the next few days and weeks . Take great comfort from the fact that you are doing what's best for your DH and that takes great courage - something you have shown you have in spades xx

Sorry to hear of your trials and tribulations Kitty - I still think a crack team of SWAT Grans could sort the idiot out pretty quickly!

Panache you two are in the wars . I do hope you an manage till DH is back on his feet again.

I have been declared free of 'spotty bladder' which showed up a few months when I was having some tests !! As I haven't felt ill or had any untoward symptoms that came as no surprise.

To anyone I have missed - a) hope you are all well, b) have some cake and c) added a couple of pictures from yesterday before the weather got all cold and wet!!

I may have missed some posts. Is ann’s husband going to his care home tomorrow? If not, then I know it is imminent and I can understand how upset ann feels. It’s a very emotional time for her after her long years of marriage. It was the only decision for her, though, and the right one.

Anne what an emotional time for you - it's totally understandable - please look after yourself and allow yourself to cry when you need to.

Soop if Tabitha does have some wildcat in her you're probably right about not being able to domesticate her but she will still appreciate the warm shelter and food on tap. Hope McS's hospital appointment goes well tomorrow.

I think it must be the warm kitchen atmosphere but I'm getting very strong impulses to bake a Christmas cake. I haven't made one for years and would have to work out the oven temperature from the very old school recipe I used to use but if the rain ever stops today I may just have to go to get the ingredients - of course I don't have anything in the cupboards so if the rain doesn't stop the urge may have gone off by tomorrow!

Dear anne we are keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers. If those of all the Kitcheners could hold you buoyed up be assured they certainly would. You will get through this too and things will start getting better once you are over this next hurdle and when you can visit in more relaxing circumstances. (((hugs)))

Care home visit was not unpleasant, even 'though I missed seeing Margaret in her usual chair. I sat with Tina. Having suffered a major stroke, she has difficulties with her speech. I've a whole library of albums containg photos of my watercolour paintings. I took one along with me and we spent a relaxing thirty minutes going through it together. I shall take another with me next week.

Kitty That man is a "plonker"...as Del Boy would say.

Panache I shall be popping into the kitchen throughout the afternoon. I wish to hear what thoughts your GP has regarding your dire situation. You cannot be left to cope unaided.

Synonymous and Maw Very funny. I am a great fan of Garfield. I owned a cuddly Garfield toy, once upon a time. Gave him to one of the grandchildren together with a collection of cartoon books.

Ann, I have been cleaning cupboards this morning and thinking about you having to get organised - first, for Dh to go and then for getting the house into an order that suits you. I wish we could help. You are going to feel very emotional for a good while I think. When I'm upset, I clean the kitchen so it has benefits!

On the Garfield method of measuring I am about a foot too short!!

I have been awol too much lately what with one thing and another. The arsehole DD3's ex has raised his ugly mug again. He wants to watch Bertie play football but makes no mention of the last 7 months where he has also been awol since throwing his toys out of the pram. One of DH's brothers is a complete plonker and led by an unmentionable part of his anatomy when he should be being more of a grown up to his troubled daughter. And, DH has to have an urgent (ish) MRI scan. His GP isn't worried but covering all bases!

I'm sorry that I haven't mentioned everyone but I do wish everyone well and do keep reading even if I don't quite have the energy to linger and chat.

Panache I am so sorry to hear that your DH is poorly and there is seemingly no-one to help you! What an awful situation. I hope the doctor comes soon and can get something put in place for you. Take care of yourselves. ??.

Oh goodness Panache. I hope your GP is proactive and can sort something out for you. You can’t go on like that. I wonder if in fact this is a doctor from the 111 service? I’m sure they can’t just leave you like that, whatever the situation in Wales is like. They’ve got to do something for you both. Feeling angry on your behalf and worried for you. If at all possible could you just get back with a very brief message? We are all really concerned for you.

Sorry friends life is very difficult.
My dear man is immobilised, our only few neighbours are men and over 80 plus one lady invalid in her eighties........so it is just a case of getting on with things the best way we can......the NHS in Wales are very poor ....awaiting a Doctor now, but no hope of any carers or help.

I popped in here first thing (for me anyway) to find out what news there is of anne and chez Panache. Hopefully it will be a better day.

I am pleased to see more sunshine out there so that is a good start to the day. We have old friends arriving tomorrow for a couple of nights so I am hoping to find a couple or more of any late flowers still blooming in the garden to put in their room. I think I saw a few pansies still showing their little faces so that will be pretty even if miniscule.
