My Mil went shopping for a small wardrobe with lots of space inside. (She wasn't a Doctor Who fan!)

Teetime, I loved that Victoria Wood sketch all of course by "Cacherelle".
I really thought she was one of the best and most of it from real life which made it very easy to relate to.

This all reminds of lovely Victoria wood in a sketch which she referred to make up being ' in all colours of the speculum'. DS and I still use it and the word 'pochette' for make up bag.

My mother was looking for a new picture for her lounge. She saw one that she particularly liked and when considering it the assistant asked "are you restricted for space" to which my mother replied "oh no, it's just that we don't have much room". My father and I were helpless with laughter.

My D, my Mum and I had a "girly" weekend in Spain, we went to a theme park for one of the days. Mum was on the phone that evening to my sister and we overheard her say, "Oh yes, had a lovely ride on a stimulator this afternoon". We were in fits of laughter as she meant "simulator" ride in the theme park. ??? We now refer to these rides as "stimulators" in honour of Mum.

I was doing my family tree in Wales, phone rang, I had to do the d delta thingy, got to G , said Gwalchmai, the person who i was speaking to said ‘ pardon?.

On holiday in Wales with my son when he was a toddler he said pensively, there’s lots of different Wales isn’t there mum? Wales where we are, Whales the big fish and curtain wails. Still makes me laugh ?

Got my own back. DD and myself were leaving Sainsbury's when she about turns and says we can't honour of that door, it's invalid. No darling, it's the door for disabled people.

My CD said to me in school run, Mum they've taken gullible out of the dictionary. Me, no really, why? Be very lived it down.

This takes me back - when I was at school (for Office Practice) we learned the Post Office Telephones alphabet which was different, B for Bertie, O for Oliver, L for London, damned if I can recall many more and I rather resented the new-fangled version for putting me off my stride.

Does anyone remember a game called Beat the Bomb? I used to play it with the grand children and one grandson got in such a state when it was his turn to say a word beginning with F, before the bomb went 'off'. He spluttered 'fffffffff - Fank you!' They are all grown up now but still remember giggling hysterically over it.

I love 'Ikea' for the NATO alphabet!
I had to learn it when working for an airline many decades ago. Still remember the IDs of some of the aircraft - India Whisky, India X-Ray, Golf Hotel, etc.

A man in my building aways makes me feel nervous-I think it's because I know he's a psychiatrist, and he stares. I got in the lift that he was in, pressed the wrong button, and when I didn't get out at that floor said "oh dear, I'm a bit jet lagged." "Where have you been?" he asked.
"Cheltenham," I said.

On the theme of phonetic names. OH was testing me on it and I got stuck on’I’ so I said give me a clue. He answered we’ve been there, I answered Ikea ? still makes us smile

Reminds me of the time my mum was talking on the phone and she was asked to spell something out as in ‘D for Delta’ type of thing, but to be honest she didn’t know the NATO phonetic alphabet and was, of course making her own up as she went along. It was hilarious when she got to ‘T’ as she said ‘T for Thelma’ as (obvious choice for her) ... it was her name! Loved it. We laughed afterwards.

Has anyone ever watched Jeanne Roberston?
She is an ex-beauty queen turn comedienne and is hilarious.
She refers to her husband as left-brain!

My son was telling me about a great film about the first settlers on Mars. Is it a documentary I asked.

I am a very proud TOG and usually refer to my husband as "the present Mr W".

Yes it reminded me of what Terry Wogan used to say and made me smile. DH and I both used to listen to him when driving to work and there will never be anybody to replace him.
