Wedding present for some oldies

One of the most thoughtful gifts we've received was a rose called Silver Wedding for our 25th anniversary and I later bought one called Wedding Day for some 2nd time around friends! I'm not a gardener but am buying 'bare root' roses for 2 couples as Christmas presents. I found David Austin online and my neighbour who knows these things says they are very good. Otherwise a good champagne or flowers.

Are they getting married in Winter?
A bit difficult to get anything for the garden,
Why not just a lovely bouquet for the house?

My fall back in these situations is a bottle of pink champagne with two champagne flutes. Google it. They come in boxed sets at a variety of prices.

Casey, with them getting married at that age, half a dozen packets of Viagra might come in very handy.

Perhaps voucher for restaurant or theatre. Not terribly original but it's likely to be used. If they don't want the voucher, they can quietly pass it to someone else.

Cassy, do this couple want gifts? Wouldn't it be positive if they suggested that as they have everything, all gifts be monetary and donated to whatever Charities they choose.

Otherwise, do they have a garden or a yard. A special shrub or climber could be a lovely memory. A good friend told me "there are a lot of people in this garden", referring to either plants she'd been given, or plants friends had split from their own gardens.

When in doubt I always buy a silver frame. It's good to have something new that hasn't come from either of their former homes. Hopefully they would put a wedding pic in it, but worst case scenario is they would use it as a present for somebody else!

Depending on your budget, how about a voucher for a nice afternoon tea which they can enjoy when the excitement of the wedding has passed? There are various prices and options; Prosecco, gin etc.
