The fittest 82year-old I know has been a dancer all her life. Two years ago she broke an ankle and was very frustrated until she was able to get back to country dancing in August.
Unfortunately it has taken until January to resume her tap class.
She was able to resume her tai chi and keep fit classes pretty quickly!

when at grammar school, on wet days, some of the teachers would hold dancing lessons at lunch time and during games lessons.
annsixty wet lunch-times at High School meant the gramophone going on - and girls dancing together as it was an all-girls' school.

You asking?:
then I'm dancing

but only in my dreams as I have two left feet.
and my knees aren't so good these days either.

I love dancing. DH is a Northern Soul man, and that’s a bit niche for me, but we go to Tamla Motown nights together at a local venue. They’re starting 70s/80s disco nights soon, which we’re going to try. I’ll dance round to the radio on my own at home if the curtains are shut. grin

We once tried ballroom dancing classes, but were so bad we had to give up to spare ourselves the humiliation. Even now I want to run and hide when Moon River starts up. grin

Can't resist music to dance to. It's what's kept me slim all these years.

Oh I just like to jump around to songs I like in the hope that I have some sense of rhythm.

Well, to each their own.
Not a dancer, then, I take it?

The best thing about listening to music is the off button.

I have too much metal in my joints- I used to love dancing, I am happy to be able to walk now.

My granddaughter taught me the floss ? it looks easy but not for an uncoordinated 68year old!

I used to love dancing in my younger days.
I went weekly to ballroom dancing lessons and when at grammar school, on wet days, some of the teachers would hold dancing lessons at lunch time and during games lessons.
We were still going to dinner dances up until the 80's when they seemed to fade away.
I don't know if I could still do it, I know you never forget but I am probably too stiff and immobile.
As to the OP,
You dancin?
You askin?
I'm askin
Then I'm dancin.

What gets you moving, anything in particular?

dragonfly46 Sat 12-Jan-19 21:00:24

I dance (badly) whenever I can.

I'm watching 'The greatest dancer', and its inspired me to ask if anyone dances?
Clubs? Ballroom? Do you enjoy moving to music?
I'm too self conscious to dance, and I feel its such a shame as I love music.
